CITY NEWS May 2019 Volume 7, Issue 5 City Information Numbers

This month’s newsletter is all about budgeting. Having a proper budget is important when it comes to ensuring our city runs as smooth and as efficiently as possible. A good budget incorporates a long-term perspective, establishes organizational goals, focuses on results and outcomes, promotes effective communication and provides benefits for both city employees and residents. Here are a couple of tips when it comes to having a solid and feasible budget; calculate expenses, determine income, set goals, record spending, track progress and be realistic. During the month of May, the city staff will embark with the Commission on an effort to finalize the budget for the new year. Be confident this budget process will incorporate the recommended tips to ensure a healthy financial future for our community. - Jerald Gilbert
