Concerto “Festival a Cervera” Jesús Rodríguez Picó

Poema – Lluís Benejam

Work with a simple language, with American sound, and touch on some Hollywood style, with great rhythmic resources, and especially of color, culminating in a Spanish Couch sensitive.

1111-0000-timp-pno-string (d:15’) Score 112 pgs. E686 (Parts in rent E686LL)

In this work the author uses three references: the structure of Baroque concert, the ringing of the bells of the city of Cervera, and the reference to the work of Stravinsky's Dumbarton Oaks.

It is a piece with a classical architecture, large proportions, and its content is wholly romantic. From start to finish, it features an uninterrupted melodic line, derived to a greater or lesser extent from catalan folk lyricism.

String orchestra (d:15’) Score 34 pgs. E281 (Parts in rent E281LL)

The Poem by Lluís Benejam (first performed on 1954) was written without descriptive intent or in response to a particular literary theme. Although the composer might, at times, evoke such human emotions as sadness and happiness, or encourage the contemplation of Nature, Poem is meant as a work based solely on musical values.

Concert per a trompeta i orquestra de corda Lluís Benejam

Concertino per a piano i cordes – Moisès Bertran

The treatment that Benejam makes of each member of this family is completely idiomatic, harnesses their respective resources without forcing them and achieves a balance indicative of a deep understanding. These characteristics are present in the Four movements for string quartet, a piece full of both grace and intensity.

Tromba solo-string (d:14’) Score+solo part 46 pgs. E310 (Parts in rent E310LL)

The piece has three canonic movements and is impregnated throughout by a certain popular and playful register.

Two Pieces for String Orchestra have all the charm of Agustí Borgunyó’s language: simplicity, freshness, elegance and direct communication without any kind of speculative interest, with a very Mediterranean air permeating them from the first bar.

Piano solo-string (d:14’) Score 28 pgs. E626 (Parts in rent E626LL)

Concertino for Piano and Strings is characterised by its organic and straight-forward construction, developed with a modesty and simplicity in its musical themes and expressions, which affords it a sense of unity, transparency and clarity.

Caprici per a corn anglès i piano – F. Fleta Polo

Clarinet & piano Score+part 20 pgs. S012

Score+part 28 pgs. E701

This Trio for two saxophones and piano has been put together by a composer who, despite not being a saxophonist, knows exactly how to get out the best of the instruments.

To create the work Petita Suite for two guitars, Miquel Ortega reused the thematic material of seven of the twenty songs making up Les Quatre Estacions (The Four Seasons) collection based on texts by the poet Josep Carner.

Piano and clarinet speak to each other and their voices combine in a pleasing and joyful “musical moment”.

The appeal of this piece lies in its contrasts of color and character.

This piece opens with a theme which evokes the spirit of R. Schumann’s Träumerei. However, towards the end of the piece, it adopts expressions and harmonies more typical of Gustav Mahler.

In this Capriccio for English Horn and Piano, the composer does not seek the virtuosity of the solo instrument, but which emerges as a lyrical chant, a piece in which the English horn can show off its more cantabile side.

Peça per a viola – Benet Casablancas

Piano Score 16 pgs. E681

Engruna (Crumb) is a short piece for piano that is simple but nevertheless the piece is interesting for its harmonies.
