Cleveland Metroparks offers many picnic areas with shelters and/or canopies, picnic tables and grills, restrooms and various amenities and are located throughout Cleveland Metroparks. The majority of these picnic areas are free and available for all to use on a non-exclusive, shared-use basis. Reserved Group Facilities Over 30 picnic areas, shelters and/or canopies are available to rent for a fee on an exclusive-use basis. Reservation Fees Reservation fees vary depending on the day of the week and which facility is being reserved for exclusive-use. Reservation fees are non-refundable. Refunds will not be issued due to inclement weather. The fee and signed permit must be returned to Cleveland Metroparks within one month from the date the reservation was made. Reservation requests will be accepted up to one year prior to the intended date of use. Individuals must be 21 years of age or older to reserve a group picnic facility. Chalet Recreation Area The Chalet Recreation Area in Cleveland Metroparks Mill Stream Run Reservation offers year-round recreation and social opportunities. Private Rentals - Spring, Summer or Fall The Chalet Recreation Area can be rented for events including family outings, group functions, showers, weddings, graduations, clambakes, fall hayrides, pig roasts and company picnics. The recreation area features: • cooking grills • picnic tables • sand volleyball • ball field • horseshoe pit • cornhole • swings Public Hayrides Enjoy Cleveland Metroparks breathtaking fall colors on a tractor-drawn hayride. On Saturday nights in October, enjoy old- fashioned hayride fun. Cost includes hayride, entertainment and activities. Private Fall Hayrides Haywagon day rides are available on select Fridays in October. Cleveland Metroparks offers private hayrides on October weekends before, during and after public hours. Chalet Recreation Area Private Rentals - Toboggan Season During winter, the natural beauty of Cleveland Metroparks provides the perfect backdrop for a toboggan adventure at the Chalet. And, the new toboggan lift lets riders enjoy the thrill of plunging downhill at high speed on two refrigerated ice chutes. Enjoy a family or corporate holiday party during non-public hours. Concession area can be rented for an additional fee.
Small Group Party Rentals Thursday nights only - January through mid-March. During public hours, groups of 20 to 50 riders, receive a discounted rate and three reserved inside tables. Food packages must be purchased from concession. Must be booked at least two weeks in advance.
