National Trails Day: Sagamore Creek Loop Trail Celebrate National Trails Day at the Sagamore Creek Gorge. Cross streams, explore wetlands and admire waterfalls on this rugged hike. 1 – 3:30 p.m. BeR Alexander Bike Lot Trailhead Terrain: natural surface, stream crossings, rolling hills, 3.6 miles 440-887-1968

Celebrate National Trails Day with this challenging 5K course. The race is chip-timed and participants will start in waves based on pace. The route starts on Valley Parkway at Big Cedar Point Picnic Area, then follows the parkway, switching to natural surface trails up the Fort Hill Stairs through the woodlands of Rocky River Nature Center back to the start-finish line at Big Cedar Point Picnic Area. Preregistration fee through May 26: $20; register at www.hermescleveland.com. Proceeds support programming at Rocky River Nature Center.
