History of Maple Sugaring Saturdays & Sundays • March 3 – 18 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. • Rocky River Reservation
2018 brings yet another season of gathering sap, making syrup and leading hikes through the maple-heavy woods of the sugarbush at Maple Grove Picnic Area in Rocky River Reservation. Walk back in time to see the sap-collecting methods and syrup-making processes used over 300 years ago.

1 – 31 MARCH Hunt of the Month: Ducks Stop by and test your ability to find all 20 hidden paper ducks throughout the center! Once you have found them, go for a hike to see if you find any ducks waddling around. Through March 31. 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Mon. – Sat. Noon – 5 p.m. Sun CWC Gallery Wall – Tom Fishburn Spring and early summer is the time when migrating birds return and wildflowers resurface to paint park trails with their natural colors. Cleveland Astronomical Society: The Newark Earthworks Brad Lepper from Archaeology Ohio History Connection discusses The Newark Earthworks, which are the largest set of geometric enclosures and mounds in the world. This complex was a pilgrimage center where hundreds, even thousands, of people congregated for ceremonies focused on world renewal. 6:30 – 7 p.m. Meeting CWC 7 – 8:30 p.m. Speaker CWC A Great Migration Year after year, countless amphibians throughout Ohio migrate from the safety of the forest to their ancestral breeding pools. Spend an afternoon, a weekend, or the whole season traveling the park district and taking photos of our beautiful flowers. History of Maple Sugaring
Saturdays & Sundays March 3 –18, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Rocky River Reservation Maple Grove Picnic Area It’s maple sugaring time again. On weekends from March 3 through March 18, walk through time along the Sugarbush Trail to see the sap-collecting methods and syrupmaking processes used by the First People, settlers and modern sugar farmers, then end at the sugarhouse to watch sap boiled into delicious maple syrup. Guided hikes leave the sugarhouse every 20 minutes (the last hike leaves at 3:40 p.m.). Groups may be accommodated on weekdays by appointment only. This program is completely outdoors – dress for the weather. (1/3 mile south of RRNC – follow signs from Rocky River Nature Center) Terrain: unpaved, may be muddy/ snowy/icy 440-734-6660

Golf is a lifelong game that can be enjoyed amongst friends, family and colleagues. Golf is a fun activity that teaches juniors patience, the importance of practice and proper etiquette. Junior golfers between the ages of 8 and 17 are welcome to attend, no experience is required. Junior Golf Camp Overview The five day camp includes learning all aspects of the game through drills, activities and on the course training plus golf etiquette and the history of the game. We will provide fun activities that teach the juniors the basic rules of golf and how they can be applied. The week will conclude with a skills competition where camp recognition awards will be handed out.
Additional Services & Information Extended day care is provided at both locations. Junior golfers can be dropped off as early as 8 a.m. and picked up as late as 5 p.m. Please see the extended care option when registering for the week you desire. We encourage all junior golfers to bring their own paper bag lunch. A cooler will be made available to stow the lunches throughout the morning. Seneca Golf Course offers a lunch option; juniors can purchase lunch by the day or for the entire week, choosing lunch in the Grille Room each day.
