The Temecula Art Festival once again joins the annual Street Painting and Ralph Love Plein Air Festivals for a weekend of art and entertainment. Stroll around Main Street as art comes to life or pick up some chalk and join in the masterpiece making. Youth and Substance Abuse Ages: All

Did you know that 8 out of 10 children will try Alcohol and/or Drugs before they graduate from high school. Substance use and abuse can increase the risk of injuries, violence and other diseases. Teens whose parents talk to them regularly about the dangers of drugs are 42% less likely to use drugs than those whose parents don’t. However, only a quarter of teens report having these conversations. The City of Temecula in collaboration with Hill Alcohol and Drug Treatment Center are presenting an all-new class series geared towards parents, caregivers, teachers and students who are affected by substance abuse or who are at-risk. Children with special needs and their families will have the opportunity to experience a guided tour of the ranch through this learning enrichment session. Activity stations include petting zoo, hands-on session with farm equipment, informational session on hippotherapy, and a chance to feed the animals. Does your child spend most of their “free time” playing video games? Is your child not keeping up with homework or getting poor grades? Is your child displaying negative behaviors when he/she cannot play video games? With the overuse of social media and gaming, many youth are developing serious pathological patterns of video game addiction. The Temecula High Hopes Program enables our special needs adults, ages 18 and older to socialize and interact with peers while participating in group activities and events. Sports & Fitness Tiny Tots Basketball Clinic Ages: 2.5-5 Years

Designed to introduce the basics of basketball through physical play, coordination and movement based activities. Parent participation is welcomed. The fundamentals of dribbling, passing and shooting, will be covered. The nature of the clinic is to have children develop social confidence along with listening and communication skills. Several size basketballs are available with the goal of them becoming comfortable with the junior size. The EMH instructors will use a variety of modified approaches and fun games to foster understanding of the sport. This clinic is the precursor for the Beginning Basketball Clinic. Beginning Basketball Skills Clinic Ages: 6-13 Years

Practice ball-handling, dribbling, shooting, and learn good sportsmanship, teamwork and the value of fair play. Sessions will focus on defensive drills along with triple threat, boxing out to layups and free throw shooting. The lines of the court and other guidelines will be covered. Karate Okinawan/Self-Defense Ages: 5 Years - Adults

Shorin-Ryu Shorinkan Karate is a traditional Okinawan system of unarmed combat/self-defense which can be traced back over 1,000 years. Class is open to beginners through white belt with brown stripe. Basic hand techniques, punches, blocks, and kicks will be explored. Students promoted to higher rank at instructor discretion. Curriculum followed and class is progressive.
