It is His love that binds us all together. Be it white or black, good or bad days, happy or sad seasons, we all have that one unchanging love of Jesus. He left heaven and came down to this earth in the form of a man because of His divine love that He have on us. What better thing can we have than to be loved by the mighty God of all ages.

He Loved Me

There were three little boys in a country side who loved Jesus so much. They were so enthusiastic during a Christmas season that they decided to give the best gift for Jesus. They knew, that Jesus came as a little babe, died on the cross for all of us. So they cherished their love for this mankind, These kids were planned that they should give a gift to Him who loved us all inspite of all our sins and wrongs. They decided that each one of them will bring their best gift to please Jesus on His birthday. The time to prepare the gift was a week. With this deal, they dispersed to find their best gift. Each one of them wandered, went for costly shopping, and worked hard to find a gift they would give to Jesus, and He would be pleased with their finest gifts. After a week’s time, they all came together on that Christmas eve, to meet Jesus. The first one brought a sweet smelling fresh red rose, depicting that Jesus is the rose of Sharon who died for me on the cross shedding his precious blood. Jesus said thank you and accepted it. The second friend came with a golden crown, depicting that Jesus is the King of kings who will be coming with sounds of the trumpets, on the clouds sitting at the right hand of the Father, the God. Jesus said thank you and accepted it. The third one came crying with an old leather bag in His hands. Jesus asked him ‘what is it that you have brought me?’ He couldn’t answer cos he was crying with tears rolling down his cheeks. Jesus was waiting for his gift. After sobbing for a while, the little boy replied, ‘I searched and searched this whole world, but I couldn’t find anything that can fit you, Jesus. My friends have brought you something, but I am empty handed with nothing to bring. So I am crying all the time thinking of your great love for me, but I have nothing to give you in return for your love. But I have brought something which is still not worth. I have gathered all my tears in this old leather bag’, and he gave the bag to Jesus. Jesus was so pleased about this boy’s gift. He is the Lord who is moved by our tears. Even when we are unworthy of anything, He loved us. His love for us made Him to step down from that golden heaven, to this earth to live like us, suffered in pain and agony. All this for the unworthy humankind. What shall we give that is fitting His love. Nothing but only tears. Still, we are sinners. Still He loves us. Thinking about this and our today’s unworthiness only tears flood our eyes. We have only tears that plead His pardon and pray for His grace in our lives. May this time of year help us to prepare to meet the Lord in His second coming. If it were not for His love on us, we would have perished long back. It is His gracious love on us that sustains us to this day and everyday.

Shri. A. Bevin Grady Started playing the organ at the age of 12, for a school choir. Since then: 1967 to 74 SCI Church Kodambakkam. 1974-84 English Wesley Broadway 1984-2013 Emmanuel Methodist Church, Vepery. Now, Guest organist at the Kirk, Egmore. His main music activity is as Church organist. He has also san tenor in the Ecumenical Choir from 1967-1977 and started playing the organ for the same from 1977 to 2012, the choir being conducted by Mr. V. T. Cherian, YMCA, Chennai. He is the most sincere organist who never misses any Church services. He always wanted that the service, songs, and praise should be in order and in reverence, so that our Lord who is the most Holy is pleased with our praises. His future plan is to help the St. Andrew's Kirk, Egmore, as long as my audio-visual balance is good. He says worship God with the limited talents we are blessed with. Lead the congregation in singing.
Shri. J. Chitty Prakash Dhyriam Fulltime Musician ( Composing, Sequencing and Conducting ). Started my music journey by assisting, playing Guitar and Vibraphone for my father Music Director Sangeetha Rathna Sri B. M. J. Dhyriam. First Music Album “Devanin Padhayil” produced by INRICO in which Singers Chitra, Jolly Abraham and many others participated. Started his career in music as a instrumentalist for several Churches including Maranatha Church, and Pastor Sam P Chellapduari. His music endeavors are: He played bass-guitar for late Mr. Sathy Victor. He composed, did the orchestration, directed and produced music for Fr. Berchmans (Vol 9 to Vol 18), for Dr. DGS Dhinakaran, for Mrs. Stella Dhinakaran, for Octet Cantabile, for Good Shepherd International Prayer House and several other Christian Organizations and Artists. His notable performances are: Fund raising programme for Home for Aged for the Church " Lord's Ministries " by Pastor Rajan John, Meenambakkam, Chennai at Periyar Thidal, Egmore, Chennai during 1991 or 1992 ( I don't remember exactly ) with 40 pieces Orchestra and with many singers Mano, Chitra, Minmini, Jolly Abraham, Hema John and many others.Recently he produced music for the Classic Hymns album “Neer Mathram Podhum”, His future plans are to do more music for the Christian organizations.
Dr. James Samuel Davids Started his music journey in the summer of 1966, when he joined the GATT Quartet. Soon the team was invited to sing in several places and it got famous in Chennai. At the same time he joined the Emmanuel Methodist Choir. It was delightful 47 years of singing and conducting the EMC choir without any break. During my choir directing period, the choir sang in full Gospel concerts and in television programs of Jesus Calls and Dhoordharshan. He also trained the choir for Trinity College Vocal Exams for Choirs and they passed out with 95% distinction. As the chief tenor soloist of GATT Quartet, he travelled with group of several countries including the USE, UK, Switzerland, Italy, Bahrain etc. He has also performed in the Chicago Gospel Fest, and in the Opera House Sydney, Australia. He has written and composed many songs, provides selective vocal training, part of the Male Voice Ensemble, and MMA as its principal tenor soloist. In Chennai, he directed the EMC Choir for the great Praise & Worship Artist Dr. Ron Kenoly at the YMCA grounds Royapettah, Chennai. For his achievements in singing and choir conducting for a longstanding years, he was conferred with the Doctorate in Music
Shri. James Dhinakaran Stanley Started singing from the age of 9 as boy soprano at the Alandhur Church Choir under the leadership of Mr. Chakravarthy Koilpillai, and continued in the choir till 25 years of age. Then joined many private choirs and got vocal training from Mr. Robin Daniel. He was part of MMA for short term. In Jan 1992, he started his own choir “Mount Ensemble” and have been singing with the team for the past 25 years across many Churches in the City and in Tamilnadu. He learnt to play the organ and completed his grades in Theory of Music at an early age. He has composed some songs for his choir and has trained a few school choirs also. He usually harmonizes the songs for Mount Ensemble and has produced three Audio CDs Joy to the World (2009), Count your Blessings (2012) and the third one is in the making. The most notable performance with the Mount Ensemble Glorious (2001), MCC Alumini Concert at Madras Christian College High School(2001,2002),British Council (2009 to 2013) and in TV channels. His perception of Music is: Music is the soul. In times of trials, tribulations, victories, songs are the medium of spreading the Gospel. Planning to produce an album on “Pathway to Cross”
Shri. Jeyasingh Devadoss D Joined the CSI Church choir Mengnanapuram at 10years of Age, and then sang in the St. James Church Choir, Tuticorin, where I learned to sing in parts. From 1974 till 2006, was one of the active members of T N Secretariat Choir conducted by Mr Samuel Abeysekara. During the same period, he was a member in Christian Govt Servant's Choir conducted by senior musicians like Mr Crossly Ponnaiah, Mr George Harris and Mr Jabez Janagaraj. From 1976 to 1985, he was singing in John Millns Male Voice Choir, under Mr Jabez Janagaraj. He was conducting the Choir of CSI St Thomas Church, Saidapet from 1979 to Sept 1987. From Oct 1987 to till date he is conducting the choir of St. Paul's Church Chrompet. For the past 38 years he is serving the Lord in the Church Music. The choir's performaces have been telecast in the T V channels viz Dhoordharshan, VijayTV, Sathyam TV, Raj Plus, Tamizhan TV, etc from 1995 continuously. He says, though I come from a small village in southern taimlnadu, God has graciously blessed me serve Him in the Church through Music and songs. I enjoy to train the choir and sing with them
Shri. Peter Asirvatham Learnt music from his mother, and started his music ministry since his college days. Conducting New Calvary Church Choir for the past 25 years, and accompanying the choir by playing the piano for Hymns and Praise and Worship services Conduct the choir during every Christmas and performs the Christmas Cantata His perception on Gospel Music is God loves worship through songs and music. God loves praising Him with musical instruments. His future plans are to praise the Lord with the gift of music through music, and train young people to carry on the music ministry through His church.
The Minstrels The Minstrels was started by a group of friends in the Purasawalkam area in the year 1968 getting together to sing gospel songs in harmony. The first programme was at the CSI Missionary Chapel (Ex. London Mission Church) and since then the group has traversed thus far singing in almost all the churches in the city and neighbouring places. The group has released two song albums since its inception. The first was an audio CD in the year 1978 named “Aaradhipom Vaarungal” which was sponsored and distributed by AVM audios. The second album, in the form of a DVD, titled “Kartharai Sththari” was released in 2016 comprising of our own compositions and a few covers of Gaither Vocal Band. Most of our Tamil songs were composed by our members (late) Dr. Premkumar David and Rajeev Frederick. Donald Madhavaraj is the conductor. The music arrangements are being taken care of by John Manikam. Social Activities: Monetary support to many financially poor families and welfare organizations are provided by contributions from members and proceeds from offertories received from our two major annual musical events one during the Lenten season Kalvaari Geethangal depicting the sufferings of Jesus and the other during the Christmas season Echoes of Christmas Day bringing the joy and reason for the season of Christmas. Leading choirs are invited to participate in both these services The group members believe that the primary purpose of Gospel Music is to give God all the glory, honour and praise that He deserves. We also believe that this genre of music brings the message of hope, peace and joy. To continue this ministry of presenting the gospel through music and song. God-willing we are planning for a Thanksgiving Golden Jubilee function in January 2018
Mrs. Bharati Paul Chief Guest for Chordiels Honors 2017 Born to a pious parents Dr. G. D. Boaz and Mrs. Daisy Boaz, Bharati has got complete support and encouragement from them, which made her to become one of the earliest singers in Tamil Gospel Music. She had numerous recordings released by HMV Gramaphone records in the 1960s and 70s under several music directors, and mostly by the legendary musician, composer and song writer late Mr. Cooling Rajaiah. Some of her notable songs are “Thoongu Kanney Bala�, Ulahil vandhar, Chinnanjiru Sudhaney, Engum Puhal Yesu Rajanukey, Aathumamey En Mulu Ullamey, Yesuvin Namamey, and notable marriage songs like 'Aasirvathiyum Aandava', 'Aasirvathiyum Kartharey' and many more. All those keerthanias and convention songs that we sing are first sung and recorded by Mrs. Bhrati Paul in the yesteryears. Mr. JKV Paul, her husband, has always been a source of strength and motivation all through her music journey. Even today they go to Thiruvanmiyur beach every evening and spent quality time together.

He Left the Splendor of Heaven
Who is this God we serve , who leaves his throne and kingdom only to live and save lowly sinners ? No words are enough to describe our God We cannot fathom how majestic ,how awesome , how great is our God . The glimpses that we comprehend makes us spellbound, amazed and awed. Everywhere we turn we see our awesome God . In Rom 1:20 Paul says 'since the creation of the world God's invisible qualitieshis eternal power and divine naturehave been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.' We read in Job 39 how the Lord laid the earth's foundation while the morning star and angels shouted together for joy , how He set limits for the sea saying “ This far you may come and no farther ;here is where your proud waves halt.” For “Who is like you, majestic in holiness, awesome in glorious deeds, doing wonders? Exo 15:11
Dr . Anita Chelliah is a woman of faith with a passion for evangelism She shares the gospel to all groups of people. A lover of music she sings with the St Andrew's Church choir where she leads worship and also serves as a musician. Anita is part of a trio ‘Ambassadors for Christ’ with her husband Joshua Chelliah and son Rajan Chelliah. She is also a full-time medical practitioner.
This omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient God rules over all in heaven on earth and under the earth. This amazing ,spectacular triune God makes every constellation .star .planet .meteor and every heavenly being spin precisely. He could have had worldly banners ,proclamations ,balls or contingencies to announce his arrival with pomp and glory, yet as Dottie Rambo sings , He left the Splendor of Heaven ,Knowing His destiny On the lonely hill of Golgotha There to lay down His life for me. And if that isn't love, God's passionate love for us what could we say for while we were yet sinners Christ came to be born for us and He died for us . The beauty of holiness in humility humbles one to realize the King of kings and Lord of Lords chose such lowly beginning in a stable. Everything around his birth was miraculous and so special .The angelic messenger , the virgin birth , the guiding visions to the father ,the lowly manger ,the leading star ,the heavenly choir's proclamation to the shepherds ,the wise men travelling far with gifts. Moreover his birth marked the timeline in history though through all this He is the same yesterday today and tomorrow. Christ's birth has ushered in a new era of salvation that would break the power of sin. God gave us a roadmap down through history .He foretold various signs and conditions through His prophets throughout the old testament so that reading His word we would recognize the Messiah and believe .written hundreds of years before Christ's birth it contains more than 300 prophecies that Jesus fulfilled through His life, death and resurrection. This God loves us …..people who without him are lost though they do not know it . “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost “ Luke 19:10 With this focus ,this plan that was already proclaimed in Genesis 3 where God says that the serpent will bruise the heel of a child and that the child would crush his head , unfolded. throughout the old testament we see prophecies about this child who after 400 years of silence God reveals himself humbly in a young village girl's womb who travelled far way fulfilling prophecies. Everything around this Holy God child's birth was foretold and baffles even the staunch critic . Mathematically speaking, the odds of anyone fulfilling this amount of prophecy are staggering. Mathematicians put it this way:1 person fulfilling 8 prophecies: 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000 1 person fulfilling 48 prophecies: 1 chance in 10 to the 157th power 1 person fulfilling 300+ prophecies: Only Jesus! John says in Rev 5 “ I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?” 3 But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it. 5 Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.” He came down to destroy death and to open the way for everlasting life with the triune God for us mortals. 1 Peter 1:19-20 “He paid for you with the precious lifeblood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. God chose Him for this purpose long before the world began, but now in these final days, He was sent to the earth for all to see. And He did this for you” Would you not do this for Him ? Give your all to Him who gave Himself for you. “ There's room for you Lord your Invited … Come make a place the shape of your love alone; Come make a place come make my heart your own. Jesus I'm empty without you and you're everything I need So come with your grace ,come make a place in me.”
"YOU ONLY LEFT HEAVEN FOR LOVE" Thinking about the wonderful day You were born, And how we need to remember what Christmas is for. With buying and shopping, giving and getting new things, We tend to forget the birth of the King of kings. You told us it's better to give than it is to receive, And You gave us Yourself on that wonderful first Christmas Eve. But we're often so busy with parties and holiday scenes, And we seem to forget what Your birth on Christmas Day means. Chorus 1 Oh, but I can imagine that silent night. Creation held its breath to see the wonderful sight, And men heard angels sing, "Glory and praise to the newborn King!" Oh, help me to see, You only left Heaven for love that night. To our world You came, a precious gift from above, And You gave us Your life so we could know Your Father's love. When I think what it cost You, there's so little I can do, But I'll show You my love by giving my heart to You.
