California Thoroughbred Foundation is a 501(c)3 corporation that can accept tax deductible contributions. Currently, the Foundation’s major projects are: • Providing scholarships to U.C. Davis veterinary students • Providing fellowships to veterinarians in equine medical research • Presenting seminars on veterinary subjects for horsemen and laymen • Encouraging alternative uses to Thoroughbreds with an annual high goal Thoroughbred pony award in the Spreckels Cup polo finals • Maintaining the Carleton F. Burke Memorial Library, housing a world-class collection on equine subjects • Maintaining the showcasing a collection of equine art, bronzes and trophies
