AGE CONTROL DATE POLICY Effective immediately, there will be NO EXCEPTIONS to the Age Control Dates for ANY sport. No child will be allowed to play out of his or her age category.

FEE WAIVER POLICY It is the policy of the parks and recreation department that no child be denied access to basic recreation services because of inability to pay. The department will consider fee waiver requests based on a family’s present financial status. Parents/Guardians must complete the recreation scholarship request forms, provide the required support documentation, and pay the reduced registration fee (if approved) February 3-5 from 4 - 5:30 pm at the Honey Bowen Building. No exceptions. Fee waiver requests will be taken for youth, ages 0 –17 years of age, for all recreation services. The Statesboro-Bulloch County Parks & Recreation Department does not discriminate against race, gender, religion, or national origin.

REGISTRATION FEE POLICY

For all team sports, registrations after the set registration date will incur an additional $10 fee for processing team rosters.

OUT OF COUNTY POLICY

All the participants living outside of Bulloch County registering for programs will be required to pay an additional $10.00 out-of-county fee for each activity, each season or month.

REFUND POLICY

Refunds will not be issued for withdrawal from a program that meets the minimum enrollment requirements set by the department, except in the following cases: Cancellation by the registrant prior to one week before the program starts will result in a full refund. Cancellation by registrant one week or less prior to the program starting date will result in a full refund minus a $3.00 service charge. NO REFUND WILL BE GIVEN AFTER A PROGRAM HAS STARTED.

Three-Year-Old Soccer

Academy Soccer (Impact Team)

The SBCPRD Academy Soccer Program provides competitive play against teams from around the state. If interested in participating with a team, please contact Chris Atkinson at 764-5637 for more information.

Tumbling Learn basic tumbling skills along with the proper techniques. These are cheerleading-based classes for ages 3-12. Age control date is September 1, 2015. TRACK & GOLF & HORSEBACK RIDING Local Track Meet Free Track and Field events for boys and girls, ages 7 to 14. Age divisions determined by age on Dec 31, 2016. Pre-register at Honey Bowen Building by March 7 and get a t-shirt!! Day-of-event registration will be held from 8-8:30 am on March 12. Local Track Meet will be held at Statesboro High School Track. Junior Golf Schools Local PGA Professionals will teach the proper etiquette and FUNdamentals of the game using SNAG, KwikGolf, and US Kids Equipment. Golf clubs are available for use. The sessions will be held at the Georgia Southern University Golf Course and are open to beginners or experienced young golfers between the ages of 5-17 years old. Participants should wear golf or athletic shoes when attending. Each child is required to sign a waiver from the GSU golf course prior to participating. Session

Horseback Riding Lessons

Lessons are for beginner to intermediate levels. Ages 5 - 18 (as of September 1, 2015) years old. Held at Fletcher Park on Lakeview Road. This class can get you started with the basics of good riding skills. You can also gain patience, compassion for another being, responsibility, sportsmanship, and pure enjoyment with the outdoors. Make sure to wear something comfortable, preferably pants or jeans and closed toe shoes (boots or tennis shoes). March 7 - April 22 Mon - Fri $150 for a 6 week session *no classes during BOE Spring Break, April 4-8 (Rider chooses 1 day a week for a 45-minute time slot between 3 and 8 pm) This program is designed for youth and adults who have been diagnosed with an emotional, physical, or cognitive disability.Riders use the horse as a tool to improve posture, self-esteem, balance, coordination and more! Classes are held at Fletcher Memorial Park on Lakeview Road in 4-week sessions on Tuesdays from 5:30-8 pm. SBCPRD’s fourth annual Adult Tennis Tournament will be held this Spring!

Saturday — May 14, 2016 9 am start Fee: $20 / Player (May 15 also IF necessary for final matches; May 21 rainout date) Men & Women Singles Ages 18 and over. Each age group will have two divisions: Intermediate & Advanced Format: Best 2 out of 3 sets (Super Tie-breaker to 10 points in place of 3rd set prior to finals) Consolation Bracket for first round loss. Includes Tennis Tshirt. Prizes and trophies will be awarded to finalists.

AFTER SCHOOL & SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM “Our Time”

After school care until 6 p.m., “Our Time” offers a structured, supervised after school program for students in the Bulloch County School System, Pre-K through 5th grade.

Sessions are on a weekly basis. Prepayment for each session is required one week in advance. You may pre-pay for as many sessions as you choose. The required registration fee per child is non-transferable and non-refundable. Contact: Joy Deal Program Supervisor 764-5637 jdeal@bullochrec.com

Specialists

SBCPRD strives to provide quality individualized care for children with disabilities based on the specific needs of the child. The “Specialists” program is an inclusive program, which meets in conjunction with the “Our Time” and R.E.C.E.S. programs. The “Specialists” program provides recreational and enrichment activities which allow children with disabilities to participate as they can, making adaptations and modifications to accommodate special needs. Fees for this program are the same as “Our Time” and R.E.C.E.S.


CAMP ADVENTURE & AQUATIC SPECIAL EVENTS Camp Adventure Days

The Statesboro Bulloch County Parks and Recreation Department offers full day activities (7:50 a.m. - 6 p.m.) for children who are out of school for holidays and in-service days. This camp is held at the former Julia P Bryant Elementary School on Stockyard Road in Statesboro. The upcoming full days include the following dates: February 15-19 Late Registration: February 8

April 4-8 Late Registration: March 28 Registration is required for each set of dates. After the “Late Registration� date listed above, there will be an additional charge of $10 per child. The required registration fee per child is non-deductible and non-refundable.

CLASS LEVELS Our friendly staff can help you decide which level to enroll you or your child in for swimming lessons. Splash in the Boro instructors will be teaching the Starfish Aquatics Institute curriculum. Please visit the Splash in the Boro or the Honey Bowen Building on Fair Road or call 764-5637 or 489-9089 to let us assist you in finding the right class for you or your child. *Classes must have a minimum of 3 participants to offer the class. There is a 6 student maximum to every 1 instructor.

All classes are held at Splash in the Boro. Please enter gates at the Aquatics Building. NO swim lessons will be held March 14-18.

Lifeguard Training Description: Get certified as a lifeguard through Starfish Aquatics! You’ll learn all the ins and outs of what it takes to be in charge of saving another person life from CPR to how to handle a spinal accident in the pool! Lifeguard ReCert: For previously certified lifeguards who received certification in the past year and needs to be recertified. Swim Instructor: Become a certified swim lesson instructor through Starfish Aquatics. Learn techniques to create lesson plans, be an effective instructor, and teach all abilities from ages 6 months to adult!

The Piano Lessons are 30-minute sessions between the time period above. The time of your session will be determined when you register. Sessions: Feb 19-March 11; March 18 - April 8; April 15-May 6 Become a Member of the Senior Center! A quarterly newsletter is sent out to our members with updated trips and weekly activities. To become a member there is an annual $20.00 membership fee.

The SilverLiners Line Dancing

Intermediate & Advanced Line Dancing taught by long time instructor Thelma Kilpatrick. This group performs at local nursing and assisted living homes. Meets at Honey Bowen Bldg, for only $2 a session.
