It is the policy of the parks and recreation department that no child be denied access to basic recreation services because of inability to pay. The department will consider fee waiver requests based on a family’s present financial status. Parents/Guardians must complete the recreation scholarship request forms, provide the required support documentation, and pay the reduced registration fee (if approved) August 2-4 from 4 - 5:30 pm at the Honey Bowen Building. No exceptions. Fee waiver requests will be taken for youth, ages 0 –17 years of age, for all recreation services. The Statesboro-Bulloch County Parks & Recreation Department does not discriminate against race, gender, religion, or national origin.
AGE CONTROL DATE POLICY There are NO EXCEPTIONS to the Age Control Dates for ANY sport. No child will be allowed to play out of his or her age category. OUT OF COUNTY POLICY
All the participants living outside of Bulloch County registering for programs will be required to pay an additional $10.00 out-ofcounty fee for each activity, each season or month.
REFUND POLICY
Refunds will not be issued for withdrawal from a program that meets the minimum enrollment requirements set by the department, except in the following cases: Cancellation by the registrant prior to one week before the program starts will result in a full refund. Cancellation by registrant one week or less prior to the program starting date will result in a full refund minus a $3.00 service charge. NO REFUND WILL BE GIVEN AFTER A PROGRAM HAS STARTED.

Flag Football
The SBCPRD Flag Football Program provides youth the opportunity to learn the basic rules and fundamentals of the game in a noncompetitive environment. All flag football players receive a team jersey and participate in practices and games. Age League Practice/Game Days Fee Fee (after Aug 5)

Tackle Football--Child must be present at registration for weighing and fitting of equipment.
Three tackle football leagues are offered by SBCPRD. The Tiny Mite Tackle League introduces players to the basic level of fundamentals and techniques and builds on skills learned in the Flag league. There are no standings kept in this league. The Minor Tackle League builds on the fundamentals learned in the tiny mite tackle league by introducing the higher skills of tackle football. Volunteer coaches focus on teaching techniques that a player will use in this league and in the future. The Midget Tackle League is for 11 and 12 year olds and introduces players to the finer points of football. Football Bowl Games Each league will have end of season bowl games at Mill Creek Regional Park. Flag Football Games and Tackle Football Games will be held at the end of the season (dates TBA). Cheerleading
Recreation cheerleading is a wonderful recreation program for new and experienced cheerleaders, ages 4-12 years old. Learn cooperation, self confidence, respect, great friendships and all of the important skills of cheerleading. We do our best to place cheerleaders with their sibling football players (tackle leagues), but cannot always do so. We cannot guarantee sibling placement after August 18. Cheer Competition
Monday, October 30 7 PM Statesboro High School Gym Minor and Midget League Cheerleaders will show off their moves from the football season in one final competition. All cheerleaders will receive participation awards and we will have first and second place winners in the minor and midget divisions for best performance at the competition. Teams will be judged on showmanship, cheer technique, appearance, and overall impression. Each team will be required to perform a cheer and a dance. **All Tiny Mite League cheerleaders will perform a special cheer exhibition during the competition.
Junior Golf Schools Local PGA Professionals will teach the proper etiquette and FUNdamentals of the game using SNAG, KwikGolf, and US Kids Equipment. Golf clubs are available for use. The sessions will be held at the Georgia Southern University Golf Course and are open to beginners or experienced young golfers between the ages of 5-17 years old. Participants should wear golf or athletic shoes when attending. Each child is required to sign a waiver from the GSU golf course prior to participating. Session

The SBCPRD Recreational Soccer League exists to provide youth the opportunity to participate in a fun, organized and safe environment. Emphasis is placed on the enjoyment of playing soccer while learning basic skills of the game. Fall soccer season runs August through October. Explore Archery is a versatile education activity program tailored for youth and families that are interested in being introduced to the sport or looking for an activity that includes everyone. Archery is introduced through participation in individual and team-building activities that require fundamental skills, a competitive edge and a bit of creativity – not based on athletic abilities or the capability to shoot a perfect score. Around the Horn Competitive Baseball/Softball These teams are designed to offer youth in the Bulloch County and surrounding area the opportunity for more competitive play in addition to regular league play in the Spring. Tryout dates are listed below--there is no tryout fee. The fee for participating on an Around the Horn Team will be $400. Specialists
SBCPRD strives to provide quality individualized care for children with disabilities based on the specific needs of the child. The “Specialists” program is an inclusive program, which meets in conjunction with the “Our Time” and R.E.C.E.S. programs. The “Specialists” program provides recreational and enrichment activities which allow children with disabilities to participate as they can, making adaptations and modifications to accommodate special needs. CAMP ADVENTURE DAYS Camp Adventure Days
The Statesboro Bulloch County Parks and Recreation Department offers full day activities (7:50 a.m. - 6 p.m.) for children who are out of school for breaks and in-service days. This camp is held at the former Julia P Bryant Elementary School on Stockyard Road in Statesboro. The upcoming full days include the following dates: September 5 Late Registration: August 28

Our friendly staff can help you decide which level to enroll you or your child in for swimming lessons. Splash in the Boro instructors will be teaching the Starfish Aquatics Institute curriculum. The Piano Lessons are 30-minute sessions between the time period above. The time of your session will be determined when you register. HORSEBACK RIDING PROGRAMS & PARTIES 13 This program is designed for youth and adults who have been diagnosed with an emotional, physical, or cognitive disability. Experience outdoor fun and recreation while using the horse as a tool to improve posture, self-esteem, balance, coordination and more! Classes are held at Fletcher Memorial Park on Lakeview Road in 4-week sessions. Session one: September 5-26 Session two: October 3-24 Tuesdays, 4:30-7 p.m. Fee: $80/Bulloch County resident; $90/Out of County resident *Sponsors available for financial assistance Volunteer training will be held on Tuesday, August 22 at 6 pm and Tuesday, October 3 at 5 pm.
Horseback Riding Lessons
Lessons are for beginner to intermediate levels. Rider must be at least 5 years old as of September 1, 2017. Ages are 5 and up. Held at Fletcher Park on Lakeview Road. Interested in horseback riding? Whether you want to ride English or Western get started with the basics of good riding skills. You can gain so much from riding lessons such as; patience, compassion for another being, responsibility, sportsmanship, and pure enjoyment with the outdoors. Make sure to wear something comfortable, preferably pants or jeans and closed toe shoes (boots or tennis shoes). August 21-September 29 Mon - Fri $150 for a 6 week session October 9 - November 17 Mon - Fri $150 for a 6 week session (Rider chooses 1 day a week for a 45-minute time slot between the hours of 3 and 8 pm)
