August places us well into the Summer season, and our aircrafts are busy operating up to 12.5 hours a day to provide air travel to and from our 23 destinations in Europe and the Middle East, fulfilling 157 scheduled flights weekly.

Our commitment to a customer orientated network is reflected in our strong passenger numbers this Summer. In June alone, our flights operated close to 90% full across our network, representing a remarkable increase of over 30% in passenger numbers compared to last year. As we progress further into the Summer season, we anticipate this level of performance to continue, with passenger numbers per flight exceeding 90%. With such a high demand for travel, we would like to remind our passengers to allow plenty of time for travelling to their departure airport, the check-in process and passing through security. Our objective at Air Malta is to support our valued customers in making their journey as easy and stress-free as possible.

During this peak travel period it is also very pleasing to see the increasing number of passengers arriving into Malta from further afield international destinations in collaboration with our key network airline partners, including Austrian Airlines, AirBaltic, Brussels Airlines, Emirates, Air France, ITA Airways, KLM, Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, Swiss Airlines, and Turkish Airlines. This collaboration allows our passengers to conveniently book long-haul travel through our extensive partner network.

I had promised myself that this year I would start my beach body prep in May, I seem to have missed that deadline but luckily for me, Malta has a lot of coastline which means finding a secluded spot to sunbathe, isn’t too difficult. There’s a great Maltese saying “Il-baqra kollha tinbiegħ ” which translated means, “every part of the cow gets sold,” a kind of “there’s something for everyone”, and that is exactly what Malta embodies.

When you go through this edition, you’ll find beautiful things; villages, gifts, views… you will read about the traditional festa and festa food, flea market finds, the Malta Society of Arts and everything it does for the creative community, you’ll see ideas of where to go on land and at sea and how to get there; maybe you’ll take the bus which are great fun and great value or perhaps you will get to charter a boat for a day?
