HOW LONG HAVE YOU WORKED AT AIR MALTA AND IN WHAT ROLES?

I took on the role of Head of Corporate Communications at Air Malta in January 2023.

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR CURRENT ROLE?

I’m excited to be working in the aviation sector, where my role is focused on developing and promoting the Air Malta brand through internal and external communication. I enjoy all aspects of the position but most of all, I find that executing creative communication strategies derived from discussions with team members across all our departments most rewarding.

AND WHAT’S THE MOST CHALLENGING ASPECT?

This must be the area of crisis communication when the quality of the communication is critical to ensure it does not create confusion or panic.

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY DOING IN YOUR FREE TIME?

Exploring the Maltese coastline from the sea, swimming, and snorkelling.

WHICH IS YOUR FAVOURITE EUROPEAN DESTINATION AND WHY?

Brussels, for the daytime vibe of in the European quarter, the beautiful architecture of Grand Place and the moules et frites

WHICH IS YOUR FAVOURITE DESTINATION YOU HAVE VISITED AND WHY?

Petra in Jordan because it is a window into a very ancient civilisation, that invokes awe in the achievements of humankind.

FAVOURITE MOVIE?

Chocolat released in 2000 starring Juliette Binoche and Johnny Depp.

FAVOURITE GENRE OF MUSIC?

I enjoy chillout music which is a mix of ambient, downtempo, lounge and acid jazz, the perfect sounds for a day at a beach lido.

DREAM HOLIDAY DESTINATION?

Hawaii, so I can see those magnificent waves.

WHERE WOULD YOU RECOMMEND VISITING WITHIN THE MALTESE ISLANDS?

Rabat and its surrounding areas.

PREFERRED MALTESE DISH?

The Maltese platter including Maltese sausages, sundried tomatoes, capers, cheeselets ( ġ bejna), bean paté (bigilla), stuffed olives, marinated beans, bruschetta, giardinera, Maltese galletti and grissini.

FAVOURITE MALTESE EXPRESSION?

‘Hux ’ – a term that communicates you are in agreement.
