INTRODUCTION Battersea Arts Centre’s mission is to invent the future of theatre. We support developing artists, many of whom populate the stages of the National Theatre, Southbank & Barbican Centres as well as being regulars on national and international touring circuits. Battersea Arts Centre is also one of London’s most creative event venues. It offers an inspiring and dynamic location to hold any function. Our Grade II* listed Victorian town hall houses a variety of beautiful, unique and versatile spaces. We have a long history of hosting a wide variety of distinctive events, from weddings and parties to major fundraisers, trade fairs, location filming, conferences and meetings. Our rooms range from the small and intimate to the grandeur of our Victorian Grand Hall, with its unique original working organ. As a successful theatre we have a wide range of skills, facilities and services on hand, from expert technical advice to professional event catering. Our focus is on providing everything in-house, which means we can offer event solutions to the highest standard but at the best possible value. WEDDINGS Battersea Arts Centre is fast becoming one of the most popular wedding destinations in south west London. With four different licensed spaces for ceremonies, including the main foyer stairs, Octagonal Hall, Lower Hall and Grand Hall, Battersea Arts Centre is the perfect space to stage the whole event. The period dĂŠcor and ornate features lend their own magic towards making a special day unforgettable. The Grand Hall has a long history of holding weddings and civil ceremonies and can comfortably contain up to 400 for a sit-down reception. The hire includes the elegant Octagonal Hall as a private entrance, private bar, and dressing rooms for preparation and comfort. The Council Chamber is ideal for smaller parties of up to 200. Its stylish and dramatic dĂŠcor suits clients looking for the perfect alternative, but it works just as well for traditional wedding parties.

MEETINGS, CONFERENCES & LARGER EVENTS Our venue boasts a wide variety of spaces, which means that we can offer everything from a meeting room for 30 to a conference venue for up to 500. Our expert technical team guarantees affordable AV solutions, and our in-house catering offers include competitive day-delegate rates for refreshments, full menu packages and bar services. Whether it’s to keep you going during a full day, from a working lunch, or simple nibbles for a drinks reception, we can provide excellent service without the hassle of bringing in external caterers. We can also provide a drinks package and full bar service in every space. The Grand Hall is ideal for trade fairs, product launches, fashion shows, end of season sales, and examinations. Easy access for deliveries and client/customer parking is provided directly outside the Grand Hall entrance. The Council Chamber can offer two adjacent break-out spaces, including the Members Library, which can also be used independently for smaller meetings.

GRAND HALL Over its 100 year history this majestic hall has welcomed a wide variety of events including weddings, public dances, gigs and concerts, theatre shows, film screenings, video shoots and momentous civic occasions. Entering via a stunning glass domed, marble foyer, which is an ideal space to serve welcome drinks and refreshments or hold ceremonies, you move into the hall itself. The ample stage is the perfect platform for presentations and entertainment, with built in PA systems and rigging for AV equipment. The organ, which flanks the far end of the hall, is the only one of its kind in the world and provides a stunning, unique backdrop for any event. Two dressing rooms either side of the stage, with private shower and toilets, offer a place for wedding couples to relax during the day, or can be used as a VIP area for guest speakers. In addition to the natural light provided by ten large windows, the hall is equipped with a variety of flexible lighting solutions, enabling any design to be implemented. The hall is flanked by long airy corridors, useful as additional areas for buffets or break-out spaces. The Grand Hall also comes with a fully-equipped kitchen.

LOWER HALL The Lower Hall is a popular and flexible space capable of holding up to 200. With a private entrance at the rear of the building, the Lower Hall is fully self-contained with its own foyer, cloakroom and WC facilities. Tastefully refurbished in 2012 the Lower Hall can be hired for regular classes throughout the week. Wall-length dance mirrors and a surround-sound speaker system make it ideal for all types of dance and movement classes as well as workshops, auditions and rehearsals. The Lower Hall is available on Saturday evenings for small parties, wedding ceremonies, receptions and other events. COUNCIL CHAMBER The Council Chamber’s unique style makes it perfect for creative events or for anyone looking for something a bit different. Steeped in political and theatrical history, it is located on the first floor, through the bustling foyer of theatre-goers, and is accessible via the building’s opulent, marble staircase. The room includes a built-in PA system, rigging for AV equipment and lighting. Hire of the Council Chamber includes a spacious adjoining room (Dressing Room) that can be used as a break-out, catering, or bar area. The Dressing Room receives the dumb waiter from our newly purposebuilt kitchen on the ground floor. The room also boasts direct access to the Member’s Library, which can be hired additionally, providing a suite of three wonderfully different spaces. TECHNICAL FACILITIES • A PA consisting of x4 loudspeakers and x2 subwoofers built in the configuration best suited to your event. • A 16 channel desk. • A comprehensive stock of microphones and monitor speakers for band setups. • A full stock of theatre lighting. MEMBERS LIBRARY This bright and airy room is situated at the front of the building adjacent to (and with access to) the Council Chamber. Its classical features and more neutral décor means it works equally well for private events or corporate hires, whether as a breakout from the Council Chamber or as a standalone hire. The capacity of up to 50 guests is perfect for meetings, training sessions and small conferences. As a private hire it provides an elegant space for more intimate parties, naming ceremonies and other celebratory events. The Members Library works as a break-out space or it can be hired independently for meetings, conferences or for more intimate celebrations. We can provide flip charts and projectors for any presentation requirements. Our in-house catering team can also provide a wide range of daytime and evening food and drink packages. PRODUCTION SERVICES As a working theatre we can offer full production services, including bespoke lighting and sound design using in-house equipment, designers, programmers and crew. Both the Grand Hall and Council Chamber can be fitted with raked seating and we can provide extra staging to create podiums and catwalks.

CATERING We aim to keep our catering fresh, simple and delicious. We are so familiar with our building, resources and locality that you can rely on us to keep you topped-up and very well fed. We are passionate about food and drink and pride ourselves on our menus and drinks packages, whether standard or bespoke for a particular or specially-themed event. Preparation and cooking on-site makes a big difference in bringing fresh, appetising dishes to the table and making your event as environmentally friendly as possible.

DIRECTIONS BY BUS 345, 77, 87, 156 and G1 stop on Lavender Hill outside Battersea Arts Centre. The night buses N77 and N345 also stop outside. We are then a 5/10 minute walk up Lavender Hill from Clapham Junction. See all buses to Clapham Junction. BY UNDERGROUND The closest Underground stations to Battersea Arts Centre are Clapham Common on the Northern line or Stockwell on the Victoria line. Buses run from both stations to outside our door. BY TRAIN Battersea Arts Centre is a 5/10 minute walk from Clapham Junction station. Trains run regularly to Clapham Junction from many destinations including Waterloo, Victoria and East London. Take the train to Clapham Junction, pass through the shopping centre exit and turn left out of the station. PARKING Battersea Arts Centre has a private road (Town Hall Road) on the right hand side of the building. Parking permits are required between the hours of 10am and 6pm. These are obtainable from Box Office and are free of charge to BAC customers although space is limited.
