Ludvig Eikaas (1920 - 2010) was a modern art pioneer, and is considered one of the most influential Norwegian post-war visual artists. The Eikaas Gallery houses a considerable portion of his work. The rest may be found in Copenhagen, New York, Paris, Florence and other Norwegian art museums.

As a graphic artist, painter, illustrator and sculptor, Eikaas remained exploratory, experimental and spontaneous. He had a preference for untraditional tools and materials – he was, among other, the first to use hard plastic in his sculptures.

The Eikaas Gallery displays rotating exhibitions based on a collection of more than 850 artworks. We have a café, a jetty and our very own beach by Jølstravatnet.
