Dear Event Planner, The University Student Union (USU) Conference and Events Center (CEC) at Cal State Long Beach is passionate about making your event a one-of-a-kind, memorable experience. Our facilities are some of the best-kept secrets in Southern California because we provide our clients with flexible and enjoyable amenities that are also affordable. Our insightful staff plans and executes thousands of events and meetings annually. We have access to on-site caterers with years of experience in creating professional, yet innovative culinary environments. In addition to enjoying the benefits of our attractive facility. University Student Union guests take advantage of our close proximity to downtown Long Beach along with its abundance of restaurants, hotels and entertainment options. The USU is located near major Orange County and Los Angeles freeways and is just 10 minutes away from the Long Beach Airport making it a convenient place for your guests to meet. Our knowledgeable staff can help you plan an event that takes advantage of everything Long Beach has to offer. From hosting a conference to holding a fundraiser, the University Student Union is a diverse site that provides you with an array of specialized spaces that can make your event memorable. Our staff will work closely with you to find creative and fun ways to take your event to the next level. Our goal is to help you create a setting that reflects your occasion’s atmosphere while giving your guests a wonderful experience.

Our
FACILITIES Our site has held an array of events ranging from student organizations’ cultural shows and conferences to job recruiting fairs and weddings. You can expect a variety of settings that will fit your event perfectly while comfortably accommodating you and your guests. We offer flexible indoor meeting space that includes wifi access and on-site audio visual staff. Your guests can also take advantage of the beautiful outdoor spaces surrounding the University Student Union for informal breaks, or reserve them for events such as concerts and large gatherings.

Long Beach
BALLROOMS With its beautiful wood floors and campus vistas, the Long Beach Ballrooms are the most popular venues in the University Student Union. Perfect for conferences, seminars and trade shows, the Ballrooms can hold up to 500 guests theater style and 350 banquet style. The Ballrooms also boast a foyer that can be used as a grand entrance or registration point. The adjacent Alamitos Bay Room is a quaint location for event mixers or receptions that includes floor-to-ceiling windows with remarkable views of the gorgeous Cal State Long Beach campus and wonderful natural light.

Southwest
TERRACE Our Southwest Terrace is a beautiful open area terrace located on the third level of the University Student Union. It has patio tables and chairs for you and your guests to enjoy. The South West Terrace is an ideal location for social gatherings, cultural events or event concerts.

Beach
AUDITORIUM If you are planning to host a lecture, small performance, or even show a movie, the Beach Auditorium is the perfect spot for you. Our in-house theater can fit up to 236 guests and has 35mm projection capabilities and a variety of lighting options to set the tone for any event.

Games
CENTER If you’re tired of the same setting for your social mixer or corporate retreat, then come to our Games Center to try something fun and relaxing. This location boasts a 10-lane cosmic bowling alley, 10 billiards tables, an outdoor swimming pool, a video game room, table tennis tables, and even a big screen TV lounge. Our Games Center fills most of our first floor area and can be reserved in its entirety or in sections. A beer and wine bar may also be arranged for private parties. Please ask your Event Coordinator for additional information. 13
Soroptimist
HOUSE The Soroptimist House is a satellite venue that can accommodate corporate events and private parties for 10-250 guests. Special features of this site include a fireplace, a lovely furnished outdoor patio, an on-site kitchen and restroom facilities.

Meeting
ROOMS Our meeting rooms are located on the second and third levels of the USU. We offer a variety of meeting rooms in different configurations and different sizes to meet your needs. Most rooms are equipped with a Smart Panel, which means you’ll have access to a screen, LCD Projector and a DVD player.

Student Recreation &
WELLNESS CENTER The SRWC accepts facility reservations for specific areas that include the Farber Fitness Room, Basketball/Volleyball/Badminton courts, Aquatics Center pool deck, and the sand volleyball court. All events must be recreation related in order to meet our overall mission. Recreation-focused activities include organized games, or health related presentations, seminars, workshops, and trainings. To schedule your event please visit our reservations desk. We are open for reservations Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM-4:30 PM. You may also call 562.985.0785 for more information. 20
