Arctic Adventures is an eco-adventure company with its main office in Reykjavík but operations all over the country. Our roots lie in the first adventure company founded here in Iceland, all the way back in 1983. Our main source of success lies in the breathtaking Icelandic nature and the adventure it offeres. Description: Silfra lava fissure is one of Iceland’s best kept secrets. Silfra, which is situated in the heart of Þingvellir, where the oldest existing parliament in the world was established. The crystal clear water in the deep fissure gives you a feeling of being weightless as you float along with the lazy current. Frequently rated as one of the worlds top ten dive sites, Silfra offers up to 100 meters of underwater visibility and is located on top of the separation between the continental plates of Europe and America! Although the water temperature is only around 2 degrees Celsius our super warm dry suits make this adventure possible. Description: Our adventure starts with the black as we explore the hidden world under a lava field. The cave is a perfect example of an Icelandic lava tube where you have the opportunity to discover the marvels created by past volcanic activity. After the cave we will be moving into the blue. Silfra fissure is one of Iceland’s best kept secrets, an otherworldly scene that is world famous for its heavenly shades of blue. The crystal clear water in the deep fissure gives you a feeling of being weightless as you float along with the lazy current. Although the water temperature is only around 2 degrees Celsius our super warm dry suits make this adventure possible. The snorkeling is a relaxing but exotic trip in an environment most will only encounter in their dreams. The Black & Blue is an amazing trip, a true journey to the borders of reality and dreams. Description: The trip starts with a scenic drive the world renowned geothermal area around Geysir hot spring. There the ground gurgles, bubbles and super heated water escapes from the ground with enormous force. Next we stroll down to Gullfoss, the undisputed queen of Icelandic waterfalls. Gullfoss is an amazing sight, the water rushes down three steps of lava layers with breathtaking power and grandeur. We end the day with a stop at Þingvellir National park. Þingvellir is a UNESCO world heritage site and it is the place where the great tectonic plates of America and Europe meet! Description: This trip includes two dives in Silfra ravine. Silfra is one of Iceland’s best-kept secrets. It is situated in the heart of Þingvellir a UNESCO world heritage site. Silfra is an otherworldly scene located directly on top of the rift between the continents of America and Europe. The crystal clear water in the deep fissure gives you a feeling of being weightless as you glide along with the lazy current. Visibility is amazing and is only limited by the density of the water itself. Depth varies from 5 to 18 meters. Silfra is famous for being one of the best dive sites that the world has to offer. Cette plongée de renommée mondiale comprend deux plongées au coeur de la fissure Silfra. Elle est située au cœur du parc National de Þingvellir. Prerequisites: PADI open water or equivelent certification required, PADI advanced and dry suit certificates recommended.

Please note: All dives are performed in a dry suit. Divers have to supply sizes on suits beforehand. Additional requirements apply to junior open water divers.
