Description: The birthplace of rafting in Iceland and our all-time bestseller! Just a short skip from Reykjavík, the beautiful Hvítá (“Kveetau”) river carries the milky runoff of the mighty Langjökull glacier on its twisting journey to Iceland’s south coast. Since the first descents of Hvítá in 1983, our River Fun rafting trip has grown to become Iceland’s most popular adventure activity. Featuring a balanced blend of wilderness serenity and exciting rapids, a rafting trip down Hvítá is guaranteed to charm and impress the whole family! On this trip we raft a 7 km stretch of the river through the scenic canyons of Brúarhlöð, and have the opportunity to jump from volcanic cliffs into the invigorating glacial waters.

Details:

Included: River Rafting on the Hvítá river and an entry to the shower and sauna. Bring with you: Warm sweater (no cotton), bathing suit, towel and a change of clothing. Duration of trip: 3-4 hours, 7-8 hours with pick-up. Distance from Reykjavík: 110 km/68 miles. Traveling without pick-up? Description: Rafting and Snowmobiling is one of our most action-packed adventure combo day trips! This popular trip offers you the unique opportunity to trace the entire course of the Hvítá river from its source at the Langjökull glacier in the southern highlands and almost down to its mouth at the North Atlantic Ocean on Iceland’s south coast. We start this trip from Reykjavík in the morning and head directly to Langjökull glacier. Here we spend an hour exploring the vast snowfields of the glacier by snowmobile, amid the jaw-dropping scenery of this unique arctic wonderland. Next we make our way to our rafting base for a lunch and our river adventure. We spend the rest of our day hitting waves, navigating rapids, swimming, and cliff-jumping.
