The Mission We are a Catholic high school in the Holy Cross tradition.

We celebrate our diversity, value each person, and welcome one another with the hospitality of Christ.

As a family of learners, anchored in gospel values, we empower each other to grow spiritually, develop intellectually and reach out in service to others.

Within an innovative and orderly learning environment we are committed to challenging each student in both heart and mind to be a compassionate individual, a lifelong learner, and a responsible steward of God’s creation.

The quality which defines the students of a Holy Cross education heritage is the training of the hearts as well as the minds. - BLESSED BASIL MOREAU Founder of the Congregation of Holy Cross

Faith Formation Campus Ministry provides faith formation and support to students of all religious backgrounds as a way to nurture and fuel their faith beyond the classroom setting. The Campus Ministry Office serves three major functions —liturgy, retreats and Christian service—to complement the religious studies curriculum. L I T UR GY As a Catholic high school, the entire school family gathers for Mass at key times of the year. In addition, each grade celebrates one liturgy as a class each year. Morning Mass is celebrated every week and is open to all students and Holy Cross educators. Prayer services are held throughout the year. Students are encouraged to be involved in Christian Ministry by serving as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, lead the school in daily prayer and other opportunities. R ET R E ATS Campus Ministry and the religious studies department offer retreat programs for all grade levels to help students create an experience that is true to them. In addition to the required annual class retreats, optional retreats are available. SPES UNICA RETREATS (held three times each school year for juniors and seniors) HOLY CROSS CONFERENCE FOR STUDENT LEADERSHIP S ERVI C E Christian service empowers students to be faithful to our Holy Cross tradition, which calls us to “have the competence to see and the courage to act.” JAM : A multiple-day, summer retreat for students to participate in a service project with a local community organization. IMMERSION PROGRAM : Domestic and international service immersion experiences are available. PROJECT HOPE : Hoban’s Outreach for Peace and Equality empowers students to prepare and serve food and share fellowship with members of the Akron community who are experiencing homelessness or other hardships. TUTORING : Students travel to St. Anthony of Padua and St. Mary elementaries to provide individual tutoring assistance with reading, spelling, math, vocabulary and other fundamental academic skills.
