O estranho vermelho, 2001 veludo, seda, lĂŁs, dados, agulhas e imĂŁs, mecanismos sonoros e eletrĂ´nicos The Red Oddity, 2001 velvet, silk, wool, dice, needles and magnets, electronic and sound mechanisms
Uma cama macia sobre o chão – veludo vermelho com dois travesseirinhos de seda estampados em rosa. Uma cama que é um corpo aberto mostrando suas entranhas. Um aparelho circulatório tecido em crochê une os órgãos desse corpo/receptáculo. Do teto, pende um estranho órgão independente, recipiente de pedras vermelhas, que eventualmente sustenta o descanso de um outro órgão/chapéu. Aos ocupantes circunstanciais desse ninho, são oferecidas luvas imantadas e o próprio chapéu, pertencentes também à rede circulatória. Acionados, eles desencadeiam a pulsação do corpo, a sua fala. E aí se inicia um jogo de dados atravessados por agulhas que os imãs atraem... (há acaso frente ao magnetismo?). Esse é o estranho vermelho, de Ana Miguel, a ser performado por dois jogadores. A soft bed on the floor – red velvet with two silk pillows stamped with pink. A bed that is an open body showing its guts. A crocheted circulatory system connects the organs of this body/receptacle. From the ceiling, a strange independent organ hangs, the recipient of red stones that sometimes supports the rest of another organ/hat. Magnetized gloves and that same hat, which also belong to the circulatory system, are offered to the occupants of this nest. When put into action they trigger the body’s pulse, its speech. And that is when a game with dice perforated by needles that are attracted by the magnets begins… (is there chance in magnetism?). That is Ana Miguel’s red oddity, to be performed by two players.
