Principal’s Report (10 min) - Esquimalt High School band playing at 9am on Tuesday, Dec. 15th - Report cards going home on Monday - Dress rehearsal for the Christmas concert on Wednesday the 16th and then the concert is the next day at 1:30 pm or 6 pm. Tickets should have gone home with students by now. - On Friday, Dec. 18th there will be a sing-along in the gym after morning recess (~11:15am). Parents and care givers are welcome! 5. c. VCPAC Report (5 min) - Amy was ill and so not able to attend. There were not any PAC members at the VCPAC Congress. 6. Business/Action items arising from previous minutes: a. Movie night (Carolyn/ Ahna) - we usually make ~$200 in profit, but this time only ~$60 was earned, however the members agreed that Movie Nights are more about raising the school spirit than raising money. - Next time (February?) we will choose a ‘blockbuster’ (i.e. “Home” or “Minions”) from Netflix (ask Ramy when the time comes) b. Christmas concert – food collection (Amy) - Rumon has offered to drop the food donations off at the Mustard Seed - Amy will still collect money donations for our school families (arranged by Emily and Admin) - Hopefully Regan and Chantelle are able to sell raffle tickets for the wishing well that was donated (all money will go towards maintaining the Rain Garden): tickets cost $2 each or 3 for $5 Action items: Amy to post notice to parents about all of the collections around the Christmas concerts. CF to check with Regan and Chantelle. AM to try to get a picture of the well for promotions. AM to confirm with Shelley that draw for the wishing well will take place on Dec. 18th (Friday) c. Holiday sale (Aaren) - lots of volunteers, but still need boxes for packing up items for the Diabetes Association to pick up at the end of the day on the 11th d. BCCPAC membership (Aaren) done e. Playground team (Aaren/ Deb) (30 min) - Maria, Deb, Ramy, AM and Chris to meet and discuss our goals, the approx. cost ($50,000?) and then grant writing and fundraising can start (need a ‘pitch’!) 7. New business a. Ideas/ questions: - The First Aid class for parents will likely take place on January 21st - AM to ask Carolyn about images for promotional materials and then get those to Amy (Meeting finished by 7:30pm!!!)
