PAC Elections for
2016/17 to
take place in September
June 2016 News YOUR PAC NEEDS YOU! As we plan ahead for the next school year, the numbers around our volunteer PAC executive table are dwindling. With one parent moving on to middle school and a few others having spent several successful years in their positions, it is time for some new faces to take the reins. Elections will take place in September and positions vacant include Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary. In fact, we are down to just one confirmed parent running for election. Did you know that as a parent/guardian at the school you are automatically a member of your PAC? Without an active PAC our kids would miss out on some pretty amazing experiences, such as the annual walkathon, the welcome back BBQ, extra funds for field trips and so much more. Child care is provided free at every PAC meeting to make it possible for parents to attend, and mentoring can be provided to incoming executive members by the parent volunteers currently in these roles. We're all busy, and yet so many of you have eagerly volunteered your time for meaningful things like book fair, the holiday sale, silent auction and more. Your dedication is so valuable and appreciated! We ask that over the summer you consider whether you could take on a bigger role. If you have been considering getting involved but haven't yet, now is the time! We know you have creative, valuable ideas, skills and talents and they would be put to wonderful use helping to make our school community great. As our motto says, 'Time, treasure or talent. No one can do everything, but everyone can do something.' Thank you, and have a fun and memorable summer! GET YOUR SMILE CARD If you don't have one already, pick up your Thrifty Foods Smile Card in the school office. This program brings in about $800 a year for our PAC. Load it at the customer service desk before June 18th, and five dollars of every one-hundred dollars you spend comes back to the school for fine arts programs. Grab one for grandparents, aunts and uncles too, and anyone else who'd like to support our school.

KUDOS CORNER A warm PAC thank you to our outgoing PAC Chair Aaren Madden who has given countless hours of her time this school year and in years past, enhancing the school experience for all of us. She has worked diligently behind the scenes and has touched all our lives with her calm and caring leadership. A big thanks also to outgoing PAC Secretary Coral Forbes for her many years of service to our PAC. Her expert minute-taking and willingness to lend a hand at all times have left a true and lasting legacy with our PAC.
