GENERAL INFO 3

WHAT IS AIESEC? Present in 114 countries and territories with over 30,000 members, AIESEC is the world's largest youth-run organization. Focused on providing a platform for youth leadership development, since 1958 AIESEC has offered young people the opportunity to be global citizens, change the world and garner the experience and skills that matter today. Youth involved in AIESEC have gained skills and competencies through challenging leadership experiences, international internships, and interaction with an extensive global network.

WHAT IS Y2B? Since 2012, The Canada Youth to Business Forum has brought businesses, organizations, government and students together to engage in a unique dialogue on relevant topics to both Canadian businesses and student communities. The Forum aims to bridge the gap between youth and business, driving Canada forward by exploring different perspectives, sharing ideas, and building a better future together. In 2021, we focused on, “The Future of Work: Looking Beyond the Pandemic.” 4

THE FORUM

At our 2021 Y2B Forum, AIESEC in Canada brought together youth leaders from 25 universities across the country to collaborate with Canada’s top executives to address the question, “Looking beyond the pandemic, how can we collectively prepare youth for future of work?” The event included panel discussions focused on equipping youth with future-proof skills, & the role of youth in leading the change. Our delegates were able to learn from a diverse representation of industry while expressing their opinions on the future of work. At the forum, we were able to explore youth and industries’ roles in leading the change

This year, our forum featured:

3 keynotes 2 panels 5 workshops 3 consultancy spaces 11 exhibit booths 25 round tables

KEY EVENTS

25 leaders 25 breakout rooms 126 youth attendees This year, we were proud to be partnered with the Canadian Centre for Advanced Leadership in Business to deliver the Learning with Leaders event that occurred on Day 2 of the Y2B Forum. At this event, delegates were able to engage with industry leaders and learn more about the future of work.

Quotes from the Participants “I had a great convo with George and Jodie in the room and George talked about treating everything you do as this is the best thing/dream job you have and I think it really changed my mindset towards my view on taking different school projects and work opportunities” -Alice (Delegate)

“I always feel I get more from the students than they get from me! We had a great chat about leading staff with different personalities, the need for digital skills in a modern work world, the changes in education and the gap between education and the work world.” - Melissa (Leader) “A key takeaway I have is that my perspective is what will catapult me into the future. I thoroughly enjoyed the chance to talk with my senior peers!”! - Orianna (Delegate)

DELEGATE TESTIMONIALS 15

NATHANIEL ACORDA (ONTARIO TECH UNIVERSITY)

GABRIEL D’ASTOUS ( UNIVERSITÉ DE SHERBROOKE)

“AIESEC in Canada's Youth to Business conference is truly a great way for young leaders to connect with professionals. As a result of the forum, young leaders are able to grasp the concept of major concerns in today's modern society by attentively listening to how companies are reacting to today's ongoing situations. Furthermore, the Y2B Forum has given an amazing space for youth to provide their insights that leading industry professionals can take into consideration when advancing their companies. Overall, I would definitely recommend all young people to attend a Y2B Forum! 16
