Media Minist The use of media as a form of evangelism in the Seventh-day Adventist Church

started in the North American Division in the early part of the twentieth century. As media have evolved, so have the different ministries that make up a comprehensive approach to meeting the call of the gospel commission to the people of North America. The North American Division recognizes and supports six media ministries as church-supported evangelistic tools that utilize the everchanging face of media to share Christ with our cities and communities.

Breath of Life The mission of Breath of Life Ministries is to present the everlasting gospel of Jesus Christ to all people groups in a contemporary, urban perspective. In pursuit of this mission, in 2013 more than 500 individuals became baptized Seventh-day Adventist Christians through the public evangelistic efforts of Breath of Life, not to mention the countless thousands who were exposed weekly to the saving message of Jesus through its television broadcasts. The apostle Paul once described God as one “who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Eph. 3:20). This promise indicates that God has even greater things in store for Breath of Life in 2014! In addition to scheduled public evangelistic campaigns, television broadcasts, and weekly revivals, Breath of Life will engage in several commu-

nity outreach initiatives, collaborating with Adventist Community Services and other social service agencies to proclaim the gospel of Jesus and the values of His kingdom in both word and deed. Breath of Life will end 2014 by celebrating its fortieth year in ministry. An event designed to praise God for His leading and pray for His continued direction is being planned for November 7 and 8, 2014, in Huntsville, Alabama. For more information, visit www.breathoflife.tv. BREATH OF LIFE: Carlton P. Byrd, speaker/director for the Breath of Life, is beginning his fourth year with the ministry that is beginning its fourtieth year.
