We have reached the 17th edition of ABSOLUTE ESCAPE, with the 16th edition we have surpassed the threshold of 1.100,000 readers worldwide, what a fantastic number.

My taste for travel and for staying in places all over Portugal, starts to be an "addition", it is increasingly difficult to be surprised but to my surprise this happens frequently.

You will find the peace of rurality and the fascination of the sea in the first Glamping Boutique Resort of the Alentejo coast.

The Reserva Alecrim property has 28 hectares, completely preserved with local fauna and flora such as cork oaks, olive and pine trees, as well as lavender and rosemary.

TYPES OF ACCOMMODATION

THE DOMES

Perfect for a romantic getaway or a period of meditation, for couples, groups of up to 3 friends or a family of four.

Incredibly appealing to the eye with the looks of a lunar landscape. The Domes are “hung” on platforms, some more than 5 meters high, playing amongst the treetops.

These are the first Domes of the Alentejo coast, and one of very few in Portugal.

You can choose between different styles of domes, some are more intimate just for a couples, others for a family of four.

They all have a fully equipped kitchen, private bathroom, reversible air conditioning, free Wi-Fi and access to all areas, such as the pools, the lagoons and restaurants.

This is the essential core for experiencing nature as a family.

Inside the sphere of the Dome, nature seems closer: the wooden platform, on high stilts, brings us closer to the starry sky, visible through the transparent cover; you can faintly hear the countless birds of the Reserve and, on the balcony, you can feel the wind on your face.

PANORAMIC DOMES

These state-of-the-art domes have all the comforts of any other house with the extra of unusual architecture: a white dome protects the whole family.

The children stay in a mezzanine with two raised beds and experience the joy of having a private second floor.

Beneath this mezzanine, the bathroom and kitchenette are concealed, resulting in a particularly elegant double bedroom without distractions from the main thing: the view that rises right in front of the bed.

From the valley to the sea, all you need to do is open the doors of the balcony (25 m2) to feel all the aromas wafting in through the dome.

PRESTIGE DOMES

Here you elevate camping and its romantic contact with nature to luxury.

This white dome embraces the lovers and gives them the perfect viewpoint over the Reserva and, in the distance, the sea.

The bed is at the centre of this spacious tent, which invites you to laze and recharge your batteries, watch the stars from your pillow through the large windows, cook a light meal in the bright kitchenette, or dream in the shade on the large veranda.

From here you can see other domes peeping out of the vegetation.

It's like being in a parallel world.

NATURA DOMES

This is our definition of a romantic stay: the white dome is the luxury tent, protecting the couple; the queen-size bed is in the centre, offering a restful rest of all energies, with a view of nature and the sea. Leaving the cosy dome, there is a wooden terrace built a few meters above the ground, with an elevated view over the Reserve.

There, lying on sun loungers, you can enjoy the warm evenings under a starry sky. It's the moment to open a good bottle of wine.

This unique combination of a modular wooden house and a dome with generous terraces is perfect for up to six guests.

On the ground floor you can enjoy your time together in the living room with a small complete kitchen, TV and a beautiful terrace facing the countryside and our stunning sunsets.

Upstairs you enter the dome, an open plan living space dominated by a huge window in a totally different environment to anything you have ever seen.

There is also access to an upper terrace for you to enjoy the view in peace.

The Deluxe Dome Houses balance the serenity of the landscapes and the proximity to nature with the good times spent among friends.

On the porch, in the kitchen and in the living room, conversations flow endlessly, a good wine is opened at sunset, facing the valley and the lakes of the Reserve. In the bedrooms, meanwhile, there is total privacy and the experience of the dome is particularly striking.

This is proof that it is possible to combine a romantic getaway with a family holiday.

The Dome House Premium accommodates up to six people in a wooden house, decorated with minimalism and paying tribute to the natural Alentejo.

You can feel the presence of nature in the two bedrooms of this house, as well as in the dome on the second floor, where the white dome doors open, to a nest of peace, with a view of the vegetation that unfolds all the way to the sea.

EXCLUSIVE ECO SUITES ECO SUITES

This is the first generation of eco-houses on the reserve.

Five of them are a stone's throw from a dip in the biological pool and the sixth, Melides, is closer to the entrance. Melides has in itself the gift of isolation and the view over the white domes of the Reserve: white balls appearing in the vegetation, reminiscent of the camarinhas that grow on the bushes of this Alentejo coast.

Whether you're near the Pizza Bar or not, cosiness is guaranteed, because the Eco Suites Exclusive transmit the true feeling of home, of a small family nest.

You don't have to choose between the privacy of a house for a single family and the fun of a holiday with friends.

These Eco Suites are practically semi-detached and can either share the veranda, the stage for children's playtime, baths in the outdoor shower or meals and long conversations between friends, or be enclosed in two separate units.

If rented separately, a couple with two children will have all the privacy of a family holiday here and will have little reason to leave.

In the morning, as you go towards the wooden terrace, you believe you have slept leaning on the trunks of a tree.

The Eco Houses are built on a raised platform among the foliage, with monumental views over the valley and the domes of Reserva Alecrim.

Between the queen size bed and the bunk bed, this is the place for a family of four, but if the plan is a holiday with friends, this house can be extended. It's not magic.

You open the terrace gate to give access, via the giant balcony, to the Eco Pod next door.

This way, there can be eight guests enjoying the same mansion, sheltered by nature and in full contact with the landscape of the Alentejo coast.

THE COUNTRY HOUSES SANCHA HOUSE

For larger families or groups of friends, the country houses are two traditional houses, existing on the property for more than 60 years. Modernized for convenience and prepared to give you a comfortable stay, but with the essence of the land.

The cottages are located within the resort and are surrounded by vines and lavender bushes.

All have a private outdoor pool, modern kitchen, outdoor fireplace, and outdoor dining areas. Dip into the roots of the earth.

In the midst of the western hillside of Reserva Alecrim, set in a magnificent pinewood, olive trees, rosemary and the vineyard, this true country house offers a relaxing environment and pure contact with nature – it has no direct neighbours.

Sancha House has a contemporary and rural interior and the capacity for up to 6 guests, with a double bedroom with a queen size double bed and en-suite bathroom with rain shower, a beautiful mezzanine with a queen size double bed, a room with 2 bunk beds and a separate bathroom, also with rain shower.

The modern kitchen has a cooking island and is fully equipped with oven, microwave and glassceramic cooking range, Delta coffee machine, toaster, fridge, freezer, kitchen utensils are supplied.

The spacious living room has a fireplace and several leisure areas for relaxing or having splendid family time.

On the large terrace you will find sun loungers and a spacious eating area with barbeque.

A nice private swimming pool delights everyone and, of course, there is access to all lakes, pools and the Pizza Bar of Reserva Alecrim as well.

Discover the deepest contact with nature in a super cozy atmosphere.

Enjoy meals on the candlelit balcony after an afternoon with a good book, watching an exquisite sunset over the valley.

For the younger ones, a comfortable room with a bunk bed. An “Out of Africa” experience.

Some say that one of the most beautiful sunsets in the region is in Reserva.

We agree. It is really amazing, and every day different. The photos do not need a filter. The schedule is sacred. The gin and tonic of the sunset is a sacred moment of the day.

It will be silent, the moment the sun goes down until it dives into the sea. Another day is over...

Country, pizzas, sunset, gin and music - it's not what defines @country.pizzabar but these attributes are part of the coolest place in summer and it has everything to be magical in winter.

Frederico, son of this land, has returned home to showcase his craft.

Trained by the APW (Italian association), he is the 1st Portuguese instructor certified by the association. With the aim of changing paradigms and preconceptions, Chef Fred shows with an artist's refinement that it is possible to combine Italian culture with Portuguese gastronomic tradition.

Beatriz, a city girl, in love with good food, swapped the hustle and bustle of the city for the countryside.

She welcomed the lifestyle with open arms as well as those who visit her space, as if they were at home.

Ask for a signature cocktail such as "Libelinha" (Little Dragon Fly - Tequila with berries) or a gin and tonic to accompany the moment of leisure, the stunning view and the sunset over the horizon.

The Alentejo has everything to make a pizza par excellence: The tomato. The wheat. The olive oil. Sourcing the local product and also producing the raw material itself - that's the identity of this young chef. The elements of our land, the coast, the countryside and the prairie, the vegetable garden and fire were the inspiration for the names of the house dishes.

The dough kneader belongs to Fred's grandmother, the one she used to make bread at home.

The work on the dough focuses on maturation and fermentation that can take between 24h and 48h, in order to offer a pizza of enormous lightness and easy digestion, with gluten levels below 10%.

Accompanied by the freshest and excellent quality ingredients such as burrata, basil, semidried tomatoes, truffles or pine nuts, these two visionaries are changing the concept of fast food pizza to slow food pizza.

Forged in the heat, in the midst of enormous flames, we have the fantastic fire mage João Pacheco.

Passionate about world cuisine, with Alentejo roots, Chef João decided to create a restaurant where grilled food is queen.

From coloured vegetables, to Alentejo's planks with local meat of the best quality, restaurant FOGGO defines itself as new, irreverent, disruptive and above all, hotvery hot!

And of course, to complete this journey of flavours forged at FOGGO, you can't miss the incredible cocktails prepared by the magnificent Nico.

In summer it is a place where food, music and good mood reign supreme. Animated by Dj Fernando Deluz always accompanied by a saxophonist.

POOLS AND LAKES

Feel relaxed by the sound of flowing water.

Close your eyes and sense a breeze running over your body while your gaze gets lost in the endless horizon. Get carried away; this is the spirit of our infinity pool.

Take a few laps in the morning or sip a cocktail in the late afternoon. Enjoy a dip and embrace the landscape. Diving is not allowed.

In Reserva you will dive with the little animals in our biotope. Frogs, dragonflies and many more.

They have one of the first biological pools in Portugal.

These pools are a true ecosystems in full activity. The maintenance of the water is done in a totally natural way with a balance between plants and animals. In this way a super clean water is obtained without any kind of chemical treatment.

You can dive at will and you will never feel your eyes burning. Around the pool, there is a lot of grass and private decks, so you can have all the necessary isolation.

The fascination of a giant dome with almost 300 m2 and the charm of a 10 m diameter swimming pool, heated to 26 degrees.

A space totally different from everything you've seen with a breathtaking view over a valley with the sea in the background.

Whatever the time of year - the invitation is made... be it day or night, dive into the glamour of our Dome Pool. Where you least expect, in a beautiful valley between two slopes, you will find a breathtaking lagoon.
