Print At Home Museum Passes We are pleased to bring you an exciting update to our popular Museum Pass program: the option to choose a specific day to visit a museum, and the ability to print your tickets right at home! Seven of our 14 current passes offer this reserve and print option including the Nassau County Museum of Art, Old Bethpage Village, Old Westbury Gardens, Vanderbilt Museum & Planetarium, Intrepid Sea, Air, & Space Museum, NY Hall of Science, and NY Historical Society. Reservations may be made on our Library’s website [www.mineolalibrary.info], in person at the Reference Desk, or by telephone at (516) 746-8488 x2. Print At Home passes are valid for one day, the date you select for the reservation. Once you receive your reservation confirmation, you can print it out right from the comfort of your home, or have us print it for you at the library, and present it at the museum for entry. Printable passes do not need to be returned to the library, and there are no overdue fines for them! Be advised that some of the participating museums and gardens have reduced hours and new protocols in place for reserving timed entry tickets. Your confirmation page will provide you with the details necessary to make your reservation at the museum.

“50 States” Library Card Display On Display for the Month of September

September is “Library Card Sign Up Month.” We have collected one library card from each state across the Nation. Celebrate with us as you “visit” each library’s unique library card. The display will be in the Walter and Joan Hobbs Art Gallery located on the lower level next to the Children’s Room.

The Great Give Back: Winter Pajama Drive Runs October 1-23

The Mineola Library will be running a winter pajama drive to benefit Birthday Wishes of Long Island. Birthday Wishes of Long Island makes a difference in the lives of homeless children by bringing them the joy of a birthday party in a box. Birthday Wishes in need of NEW (with tags) girls and boys winter pajamas in sizes 2T-4T only. Please donate new items in these sizes only. A collection box will be in the lobby.

We had another successful summer reading program and would like to thank the Friends of the Mineola Memorial Library and CRESLI (Coastal Research & Education Society of LI) for their donations!

ADULT PROGRAM POLICIES Programs in this section are restricted to Adults ages 18 and over, unless otherwise indicated. All programs require advance sign-up except for concerts, movies and theatrical productions. Sign up may be done online, in person or by phone at 516-746-8488 ext. 2 EXCEPT if there is a fee involved, then registration may only be done in person. There are no Facebook signups for events. High-demand programs may be open to Mineola cardholders first, with a later registration date for non-Mineola cardholders, space permitting. Registered participants must be present when the program is scheduled to begin. After 5 minutes, your spot may be given to someone on the waiting list. All programs have a minimum and maximum enrollment. Programs may be cancelled due to insufficient registration or inclement weather. If you can’t attend a program, please contact the Reference Desk. We often have a waitlist for programs and would appreciate being able to let others in if you are unable to attend.
