HI 9. Job Description

Tutor / Assessor Main Purpose §

To ensure that candidates receive appropriate and sufficient training, support, guidance and assessment, to enable the achievement of the chosen Vocational Qualification.

§

To promote and support the training, assessment and continuous personal development of all candidates, in line with National Standards and company business plans and systems.

§

To manage a caseload of candidates productively and effectively in accordance with company profiles and forecasts, ensuring at all times that time-management is accountable and a priority consideration.

Management §

The post-holder is directly responsible to the Commercial Manager by means of daily line management.

tpm Tutor / Assessor Job Description

Principal Responsibilities 1.

Develop and maintain a clear understanding of the National Apprenticeship Framework, NVQ Standards and assessment strategies and assess candidates according to them.

2.

Establish, manage and maintain a caseload of candidates in accordance with company systems and procedures, which govern candidate management.

3.

Ensure that all new candidates are visited within their first week and inducted to their Apprenticeship Framework and NVQ Programme effectively, giving appropriate documentation, information and named support/contact details.

4.

Ensure that an accountable, regular and professional relationship is established and maintained at all times with employer/placement managers. Progress of all candidates is communicated regularly and effectively to employer/placement managers.

5.

To provide a professional, enthusiastic and committed approach to candidate progress monitors, in particular Assessment Plan Reviews and IlP’s, ensuring these are on time, accurate, meaningful and motivational to the candidate.

6.

Establish and maintain a ‘caseload strategy’ to ensure achievement of Minimum Performance Levels, according to company requirements in order to maximise and exceed financial targets.

7.

Take responsibility for minimising ‘unnecessary early leavers’ by ensuring every effort is made to keep the pace and motivation required by the candidate for successful achievement.

8.

Ensure that candidate progress is encouraged; celebrated and documented using established and approved systems of electronic or paper-based portfolio.

9.

Ensure that candidates are coached and mentored in every respect of their vocational aspirations throughout their stay including expert advice and guidance on industry relevant and higher qualifications.

10.

Provide an assertive and professional liaison between candidates and their employers/Placement managers. Ensure open and honest dialogue on progress and competence; including relevant higher qualifications throughout; documenting this in Assessment Plan Reviews.

11.

Ensure that candidate, heath, safety, wellbeing and equality rights are appraised and maintained throughout; documenting these in every Assessment Plan Review.

12.

Undertake in-house Internal Verification as per ‘Systems and Procedure’ guidelines, demonstrating accountability and understanding. Submit completed work on time as per published dates.

13.

Actively and flexibly, participate in the design, delivery, evaluation, and development of training, as appropriate for candidate progress and portfolio development.

14.

Maintain all candidate documentation accurately in accordance with laid down procedures, notifying claims-administration of any known changes or problems immediately.

15.

Produce and submit a weekly forward e-plan of work (Microsoft Outlook), at agreed times and notify Line Manager of any amendments or variations immediately.

tpm Tutor / Assessor Job Description

§

To acknowledge receipt of, show understanding of and work in accordance with tpm Policies, Systems, Procedures and guidelines.

To maintain policy folder in good order and update amendments to policies as directed.

To actively contribute to the development and practise of company policies guidelines and procedures, in all work areas.

To attend conferences, seminars and or events representing Training Plus merseyside where and when appropriate.

To attend and participate in any in-house or external training as may be appropriately required and in accordance with employee-allocated training budgets.

To prepare for and undertake ad-hoc day-to-day supervision as agreed with the Programme Manager.

To prepare for and attend regular Staff Appraisal with the Programme Manager, in accordance with company policy.

To prepare for and participate in all staff support/team/IV meetings and forums, as provided by Training Plus merseyside management.

To carry out duties in a way which reflects that tpm is open, warm, respectful and committed to equality of opportunity and anti-oppressive practices.

To ensure that candidates, employer/placements, sub contractors and all guest trainers are informed of and work in accordance with company policies and procedures.

To be responsible for the confidential use of all candidate records, personal details and Individual Learning Plans.
