Uluslararası Veteriner Hekimliği Öğrencileri Bilimsel Araştırma Kongresi coşkulu bir açılışla başladı. Bilimsel Araştırma Kulübü Başkanı Onur ŞAHİNER’in açılış konuşmasının ardından kulüp danışmanı Prof. Dr. Seyyal AK ve İstanbul Üniversitesi Veteriner Fakültesi Dekan’ı Prof. Dr. Halil GÜNEŞ hoş geldin konuşmalarını yaptılar. Kulüp üyelerinin kongre hazırlıkları sırasında çekilen görüntülerinden oluşan eğlenceli video ve Kutsal Zeren yönetiminde Depo Dans Grubu’nun gösterisiyle kongre devam etti. Son olarak çıkan Ahmet KARSLI, Ali ÇÜRÜKOĞLU, Anıl DEMİR ve Onur JİLTA’dan oluşan müzik grubu çaldıkları yerli ve yabancı şarkılarla konukları coşturduktan sonra çalan 10.Yıl Marşıyla açılış töreni sona erdi.

he 16th International Veterinary Medicine Students Scientific Research Congress has started with a joy us opening ceremony. Onur Şahiner, president of Scientific Research Club, Prof. Dr. Seyyal AK and Prof. Dr. Halil Güneş, the Dean of University of Istanbul Faculty of Veterinary Medicine made their welcome speech. After it we watched a funny video about our congress preparation, enjoyed the Show of Kutsal Zeren’s Depo Dans Group and Ahmet KARSLI, Ali CÜRÜKOĞLU, Anıl DEMİR and Onur JILTA’s music group whooped us up. Our opening ceremony finished with the Turkish 10th Year Anthem.
Öğleden sonra Royal Canin oturumuyla bilimsel sunumlar başlayan Hills-Mopsan, Nestle Purina ve Zoetis oturumlarıyla devam etti. Türkiye’nin ve dünyanın farklı yerlerinden gelen veteriner hekimlik öğrencileri yaptıkları araştırmaları jüriye ve öğrencilere gün boyu sundu. Günün süprizi Nestle-Purina’dan geldi. Oturum başındaki sunumlarını Penguen dergisi çizeri Selçuk Erdem eşliğinde yaparken dinleyicileri hem güldürdü hem de sunumları sırasında sordukları sorulara doğru cevap verenlere hediyeler dağıttı. Sunumların ardından gidilen gala yemeğinde katılımcılar birbiriyle tanışma fırsatı buldu ve beraber eğlendi. Afternoon scientific presentations started with Royal Canin session and continued with HillsMopsan, Nestle Purina and Zoetis. Veterinary students from all over Turkey and the world presented their scientific studies to the jury and other students. The surprise from the day came from NestlePurina; Selçuk Erdem, the illustrator of Penguen magazine accompanied them, made the audience laugh and handed gifts to the ones who gave correct answer to the questions asked during the presentation. At night all the participants attended a gala diner, finally had the opportunity to meet with each other and have a great fun.

SELÇUK ERDEM RÖPORTAJI Nestle-Purina’nın sunumunun ardından Selçuk Erdem’i yakaldık ve birkaç soru yönelttik. Karikatürlerinizde sıkça hayvan figürü kullandığınız için sanırım burda da zor olmamıştır. Gayet eğlenceli bir sunum oldu teşekkür ederiz. Peki karikatürlerinizde sıkça hayvan figürü kullanmanızın nedeni nedir? Selçuk Erdem: Evet hayvan figürü çizmeye alışkınım çok da seviyorum kullanmayı. Karikatürde şöyle bir durum oluyor, yine insani durumları anlatıyoruz ama hayvanlarla biraz daha sevimli hale getiriyoruz. Öbür türlü sorunları pat diye koyunca acı olabiliyor. Hayvanları konuşturarak biraz daha sevimli hale getiriyoruz. Hayvan sahibi olarak onların beslenmesinde nelere dikkat ediyorsunuz? Selçuk Erdem, varlığı ile kongremize apayrı bir renk kattı. Biz de bu fırsattan yararlanalım dedik...
S.E: Ben veteriner hekimin dediğini yapıyorum. Onun dışında pek karışmıyorum. O ne diyorsa o. Sunum sırasında Banu Hanım ne anlatıyorsa anında onunla ilgili birşeyler çizdiniz. Bu da pratik zekanızın ne kadar gelişmiş olduğunu gösteriyor. Bizim mesleğimizde de hızlı düşünüp karar vermemiz gereken durumlar sık oluyor. Siz kendinizi geliştirmek için neler yaptınız? S.E: Formda kalarak sanırım. Bedensel egzersiz gibi zihinsel olarakta formda kaldıkça oluyor. Sürekli düşündükçe gelişiyor.
After the presentation of Nestle-Purina, we had chance to catch Selçuk Erdem and ask him few questions. Since you generally use animal figures in your caricatures, I suppose it wasn’t difficult to draw them infront of live audience. First of all, we would like to thank you for this extremely amusing presentation. Now, can you please tell us why did you choose to draw your caricatures with animal figures in it? S.E: Yes, I’m accustomed to draw animal figures and I like to use them in my projects. There is this thing that, I am still choosing humanistic situations but instead of using human figures, I prefer to use animal figures since it is more adorable. When you put problems infront of people directly, it can hurt them. I believe that making animals talk in my caricatures, makes people to get over their problems easier. As a pet owner, what is the most important thing about their nutrition for you? S.E: Well, I do what vet says. I don’t do anything else than that. He is the boss. During the presentation, you were drawing figures about the subject which Mrs. Banu Aytekin Erol was talking about. It shows that you have a practical intelligence. In veterinary, we also encounter difficulties that we have to decide fast. Did you do something to improve yourself about fast decision making, if so what did you do? S.E.: I think it is all about be in a good shape and mood. Like physical exercise, mental exercise also help. It gets better and i’m improving myself with keep thinking.

Zoom: Burada iyi zaman geçiriyor musunuz? HS:7 gün önce buraya vardık ve muhteşem zaman geçirdik. Türk insanı çok nazik ve yardımsever. Bütün oturumlara katıldık ve birçok yeni arkadaş edindik. Seneye tekrar geleceğim. AMI: Ben de burdaki herşeyi çok sevdim. Ülkeniz ve insanlar çok güzel. Tabiki seneye tekrar geleceğim. Zoom: Welcome to our congrerss, can I ask your name and where are you from? HS: I’m Houfani SİFOU and I’m from Algeria. AMI: My name is Adjroud Mohamed Islam and I’m from Algeria too. Zoom: Have you spent a good time in here? HS: Oh yes, we arrived 7 days before and had a great time. Turkish people are very nice and helpful. We attendet at all the sessions, got lots of new friend. I will come back next year. AMI: I liked everyithing in here too, this 7 day, the country the people just beautifull. Of course I will come back here next year. Saint Petersburg’dan Yana Ruchkina ve Elizaveta Rogozina’yı tam sunumlarından çıkarken yakaladık. YR: Çok heyecanlıydım. Sizin organizasyonunuz gerçekten çok profesyonel. Sunumdan sonra hocalarınızdan da güzel sorular aldım, umarım hepsine istedikleri cevabi verebildim. Katılabildiğim için kendimi çok şanslı hissediyorum. Burada olmak büyük bir onurdu. ER: Benim sunumum Kedilerin Arka Eklemlerinin Ana Damarlanma Yapısı hakkındaydı. Sunumdan sonra hocalarınız ilginç sorularla bombaladılar beni. İlk defa katıldım ve İstanbul’da iyi tecrübeler kazandım. Şehir de, okulunuz da muhteşem. YR: Önümüzdeki senelerde de katılmayı düşünüyoruz. Üniversitemize de hepiniz davetlisiniz. Yana Ruchkina and Elizaveta Rogozina from Saint Petersburg just finished their presentations… YR: I was really excited. Your organisation is really Professional. Your professors asked me lots of question at the session, hope I could give them the answer what they wanted. I am really happy to participate in such a high level congress. It’s a great honor. ER: My topic was The Main Sources of the Domestic Cat Thoracic Limb’s Vascularization and your professors just bombed me with their questions. This is my first time in Istanbul and that was a great experience for me. I lıke the city and your university too. YR: Next year we are surely here and we would like to invite you all to our univercity too. Diğer Üniversiteden gelen Türk arkadaşlarımız da yalnız bırakmadılar beni. Volkat Serhat ÖZEN Elazığ’dan, Ezgi ÇETİNER ise Sivas’tan geldi. VSÖ: Bu sene beşinci defa katılıyorum ve seneye bir altıncı yapmayı da düşünüyorum. Her sene yeni şeyler ve gelişmeler görüyorum, yeni arkadaşlarla tanışabilirim. Önümüzdeki kongreler için bol şans diliyorum. EÇ: 17 arkadaşla beraber Sivas’tan katıldık. Ben ilk defa geldim, kongrenin konseptini, değişik oturumları ve poster sunumları çok beğendim. Benim de bir poster sunumum var, birazdan jüri gelip hepsine bakacak, sonuçları heyecanla bekliyoruz. Umarım seneye de katılma şansım olur. Elinize emeğinize sağlık. We had lots of Turkish friens from other universities too, like Volkan Serhat ÖZEN from Elazığ and Ezgi ÇETİNER from Sivas. VSÖ: That’s my 5th congress and next year I will be here again. Every year there are improvements I can see new things, see new faces. I can jst wish you good luck for the next years. EÇ: I came from Sivas with 17 other students. That’s my first year here and I really liked the concept and the different programs. There are different sessions and poster presentations. I’ve presented a poster too, the jury will come to check it we are waiting the reasults. I hope I can come next year too. Thank you for everything. Elinize emeğinize sağlık.
