Drake’s faculty members — 95 percent of whom hold the highest degree in their field — work hard to involve themselves with students individually both in the classroom as teachers and out of the classroom as advisers and mentors. Classes at Drake are taught only by professors — not teaching assistants — who engage students in hands-on learning opportunities. With Drake’s student-faculty ratio of 14-to-1, not only can you count on being a part of class discussion, your professor also will call you by name. Students of all ages are empowered to think critically, contribute independently, and collaborate and learn with their peers.

opportunities and services.

A center for government, industry, business, publishing, education and more, Des Moines presents a myriad of internship, volunteer and career opportunities. Since Drake students graduate as effective communicators and problem solvers, they have an exceptional hiring rate. Ninety-nine percent of Drake students are employed in their chosen career or enroll in graduate school within six months of graduation.
