At Drake, just under 30 percent of the students are involved in the University’s 14 national fraternities and sororities. These organizations also include four historically African-American fraternities and sororities. The Interfraternity Council, Panhellenic Council and individual chapters sponsor numerous educational programs throughout the year on issues ranging from responsible use of alcohol to prevention of date rape. SUCCESS OF GRADUATES Nearly all Drake graduates (99.1 percent in 2007) find career employment or enter graduate school within six months after receiving their degrees. Nearly 80 percent of Drake students graduate having had one or more internships.
ENROLLMENT AND FACULTY Approximately 3,200 full-time undergraduate students from 47 states and 54 countries attend Drake University. Total enrollment with part-time, law and graduate students is more than 5,600. Of Drake’s 259 full, associate and assistant professors and instructors, 95 percent hold the highest degree in their fields. All are dedicated to teaching.
SCHOLARSHIPS & FINANCIAL AID Approximately 98 percent of Drake students receive financial assistance, including merit- and need-based assistance. More than 5,000 scholarships are awarded and $60 million in financial assistance is provided to Drake students annually. The average financial aid package for students entering Drake in 20072008, typically a combination of grants, scholarships, need-based loans, and need-based work study, was $19,290.
