WMU Office of Admissions 2020-21 Transfer Guide

TRANSFER STUDENTS Visit wmich.edu/transfer/criteria to see if you’re eligible to apply to WMU as a transfer student.

Apply Complete the WMU transfer application at wmich.edu/apply and submit official transcripts from every college/university you’ve attended.

Requirements Admission requirements depend on the number of transferrable credit hours earned: 24 or more hours: 2.00 cumulative college GPA (based on all credits attempted from all institutions attended). 23 or fewer hours: 2.00 cumulative college GPA (based on all credits attempted from all institutions attended) and admissible high school GPA and ACT or SAT scores. In light of the uncertainty surrounding the timeline of, and access to, the ACT or SAT, WMU has adopted a test-optional policy for students applying for 2021 entry. However, if you graduated less than two years before you plan to enroll at WMU, you can strengthen your application by submitting ACT or SAT scores.

Deadlines* Fall semester (late August entry): August 15 Spring semester (early January entry): January 1 Summer I session (early May entry): May 1 Summer II session (late June entry): June 15 * While the dates above are deadlines, we recommend that you submit your application and required documents 6-8 months before you intend to transfer to WMU. This allows you to meet with an advisor and register for courses in the same timeframe as current WMU students.
