HEAD COACH AND MANAGER OF FOOTBALL OPERATIONS

MICHAEL FAULDS

MANAGER OF FOOTBALL OPERATIONS, HEAD COACH & QB COACH Michael Faulds enters his seventh season as manager of football operations and head coach for the Golden Hawks. During his tenure leading the purple and gold, Faulds has accumulated a 26-22 regular season record, finishing with at least four wins in five of his six seasons as bench boss, and leading the team to four playoff appearances. In 2016, Faulds successfully led the Golden Hawks to their eighth Yates Cup Championship, and 12th provincial title overall, when Laurier posted the largest fourth-quarter comeback in OUA Championship history to defeat the Western Mustangs. Since taking over as head coach of the purple and gold, Faulds has overseen 25 athletes who have been named CIS/U SPORTS Academic All-Canadians, four OUA major award winners, 42 OUA All-Stars, 16 CIS/U SPORTS AllCanadians and 13 CFL Draft picks. Last season, Faulds and the Golden Hawks posted a 4-4 record, missing out on the playoffs after losing a tiebreaker in the final standings. Despite the early end to the season, eight Golden Hawks were named OUA All-Stars and three were named U SPORTS All-Canadians. In addition, four Laurier players were drafted into the CFL, the most Golden Hawks to be selected in one draft since 2004. Prior to joining Laurier, Faulds enjoyed coaching success on the international stage. In 2012, he served as the quarterback coach for Team Canada at the International Federation of American Football (IFAF) U19 World Championship, helping guide the team to a 23-17 victory over the heavily-favoured American squad in the gold medal game. He reprised the role in February of 2015, when he coached Team World at the International Bowl in Austin, Texas. He also spent three seasons as the offensive coordinator for the York Lions. Faulds, his wife Stacey, their five-year old daughter Chloe and their two-year old son Lucas, live in Kitchener.
