* take off the shose before entering in the hall Just face the awesome garden, and sit down for a while on the porch. Enjoy the spiritual mood in there. After move on to TahĹ?-den (treasure hall) at the edge of the building, (Emperor statue is enshrined in the room) Get back to the entrance, take on shoes and move on to the garden outside. While passing by the mail hall along the pond, enjoy watching Carp in the pond. They are so large, colorful and aggressive, sometimes jump off the water like whale! After passing by the 'Lucky Frog' pond, keep walking until the small wooden rest house on the left. Enjoy Bamboo grove, each bamboo is taken care so well, and grow up straight into the sky. Awesome Green colors. Get out of the North Exit of the Tenryuji temple, turn left. You would be stunned to face the gorgeous Bamboo street, feeling so refreshing. At the end of the Bamboo street, turn left and turn left again soon, going down onto the Hozu riverside. Enjoy Lunch at "Kobayashi" in the main street, my strongly recommended restaurant. Owner woman is very kind and friendly, she knows my name, Satoko, please say hello for me!
Leave Arashiyama for Kinkakuji by Randen (Keifuku) train (not JR) Depa at Randen Arashiyama sta. Randen Street Car * buy ticket: 200yen at the machine (one way) station no. A14 Very pretty train, it's the oldest train in Japan. Every 10mins Katabirano Tsuji sta. Change at Katabiranotsuji station into Kitano Line (bound for Kitano Hakubaicho) station no. B1 * in the same platform, just change the car. Depa at Katabiranotsuji Arrive at Kitanohakubaicho sta. Hand the ticket to the station staff at the gate. station no. B9 Turn left, cross the street toward north, walk along the big street (saiouji street) You may already find the bus stop along the street. 14:00pm

Take city bus Kitano Hakubaicho bus stop
Take city bus NO. 101, 102, 204 or 205. Get in the bus at first, and pay 500yen of one day pass from the driver. You can use this card for all day long, over and over.
Get Off at Kinkakuji Michi bus stop
After get out of the bus, walk back a little and turn right onto the narrow street toward north.
Enjoy Kinkakuji temple

Back to Shijo street area, or Kyoto station by city bus 16:00pm
Take city bus Kinkakuji mae bus stop
Take city bus NO. 12 or 59 Turn right (west) at the Kinkakuji outer entrance, walk a little toward west in Kinugasa street. * from Kinkakuji mae to Shijo Kawaramach, it may take about 30mins, so make sure to find a seat and just be relaxed in the bus.
Get off at Shijo Kawaramachi
Enjoy Shijo street area if you like, or take the city bus again to Kyoto station.
