Dear VSNA friends and family, Sharanu Sharanarthigalu! It’s our pleasure and honor to invite you all to the 42nd VSNA Annual Convention at Chicago. We are enthralled to continue this great tradition of Annual celebrations of our Sharana philosophy. The Chicago VSNA balaga has been striving very hard to bring a memorable convention for you. Vachana Sahitya and literature is very inspiring and guiding knowledge for all of us to imbibe and grow to be better human beings. The social, religious, economical and literary work of the Sharanas and Sharanes of the 12th century is very relevant even today. Their lives’ thought process, essence and substance were based on compassion towards all beings. Therefore it’s a universal religion where compassion for all living beings is a virtue that should guide us to live together as one big family and make this world a better place for every living being. With compassion, we can empower the society, uphold gender equality and stand for equal education and job opportunities for each and every one. With the same compassion, we can strive towards environmental changes in curbing the world hunger, violence, prevent drastic climate changes, etc. Compassion is necessary, in order for these significant changes to be made in the world. Compassion can be achieved by treading paths of Dasoha - Anna Dasoha, Jnana Dasoha, charity etc. Please join us all to celebrate the humble teachings of the 12th Century Sharanas & Sharanes, who having lived simple lives but left for us a legacy of exemplary, extraordinary and rich teachings in the form of meaningful tenets, for us to do the same. ದಯವಿಲಲ್ಲದ ಧಮರ್ಮವದಗೆವವವುದಯಮ, ದಯವಗೆವ ಬಗೆವಕಮು ಸವರ್ಮಪತಾಶಣಿಗಳಗೆಲಲ್ಲರಲಲ್ಲ! ದಯವಗೆವ ಧಮರ್ಮದ ಮಗಲವಯಮ. ಕಗಡಲಸದಿಂಗಯಮನದಿಂತಲಲ್ಲದಗೆಗಲಲ್ಲ ಕದಿಂಡಯಮ

Sri. Siddeshwara Swamiji from Jnana Yogashrama, Vijayapura Sri. Siddeshwara Swamiji is an exemplary saint who is dedicated to the path of Jnana Yoga, transforming seekers from all walks of life by imparting knowledge on simple tenets of life. Simple living and high thinking distinguishes Sri. Siddeshwara Swamiji uniquely and inspires devotees not only in India but worldwide, to inculcate a life rich in meaning and conduct.
Jagadguru Sri. Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji, Suttur Math, Mysore Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji is the 24th pontiff of Sri Suttur Math, established in the 10th century at Suttur, Mysore District, Karnataka. On a large scale, Swamiji has not only exponentially accelerated socio-economic developments but also strived to establish significant religious, academic and cultural contributions to the society.
Dr. Shivamurthy Shivacharya Swamiji, Taralubalu Math, Sirigere Dr. Shivamurthy Shivacharya Swamiji is an eminent Sanskrit scholar with PhD from Banaras Hindu University. Swamiji is revered for his religious, modern and scientific outlook on the welfare of mankind. He has also founded the ‘Saddharma Nyaya Peetha’ at Sirigere for resolving disputes amicably and is the author of a number of books on religion and society.
Sri. Vachananand Swamiji, Panchamasali Matha, Harihar Shwaasa Guru’, Swami Vachananand is highly recognized yoga teacher as well as a philanthropist. He travelled across the Himalayas and learned from various saints and yogis, mastering asanas, meditation, pranayama and yoga nidra. He is regarded as a fountain of knowledge when it comes to yoga and loves to share the same with his pupils.

Smt. Rani Satish Smt. Rani Satish served as Former Minister of Kannada & Culture in Karnataka Government. She is also on the Advisory Board for Basava Samithi, Bangalore and was the Vice President of ‘All India Veerashaiva Mahasabha’. Smt. Rani Satish is also an active member of ‘Akkamahadevi Samaja’.
Dr. Shamanur Shivashankarappa, MLA, Davangere & Chairman of Bapuji Educational Association Sr. Shamanur Shivashankarappa is a renowned educationalist and industrialist. He is currently the President of Akhila Bharatha Veerashaiva Mahasabha and has previously served as Ex-Minister of Horticulture & Agriculture in Karnataka Government.
Dr. M. G. Eshwarappa Academic Director, Bapuji Educational Association, Davangere M. G. Eswarappa is a Kannada professor and scholar. He has served in Kannada Janapada Academy, has written many books.
