September 24, 2021 Greetings Voorhees Family, Supporters and Guests: Elegance, scholarship and leadership converge once a year on our campus when we celebrate Miss Voorhees College and Mr. Voorhees College. Our queen, king and the royal court exemplify our best and brightest students. They are a part of the student executive leadership team who will join me in taking Voorhees to the next level of excellence. I am honored to join you for the coronation of Miss Voorhees College, Erianna Trenae Card, and Mr. Voorhees College, Henriadam De’zhon Brower. Miss Card, from Covington, Georgia, is a presidential scholar pursuing a degree in business administration. She is a student-athlete who excels in the classroom, on the basketball court, on the softball field and in volunteering time as a tax preparer. Mr. Brower, from Fayetteville, North Carolina, is also a presidential scholar. He is pursuing a degree in sports management with a certification in entrepreneurship. He is a student-athlete who excels academically in the honors college and international education as well as at baseball. His volunteerism efforts have included service in Ghana, Liberia, and Morocco. This evening, we celebrate these exceptionally talented young people who are the essence of excellence. On behalf of the Voorhees College Board of Trustees, the executive leadership team, faculty, staff, students and alumni, I congratulate Mr. and Miss Voorhees College and the members of the royal court for their academic, leadership and service achievements. I look forward to them serving as ambassadors as we observe the 125th anniversary of Voorhees and take the institution to the next level of excellence. Sincerely,

MISS VOORHEES

ERIANNA CARD ERIANNA TRENAE CARD, of Covington, Georgia, is the daughter of Jerome and Erica Wise. Erianna is the sister to A. J., Jacarius, and Jaheim Wise and is a 2018 graduate of Newton High School. Throughout high school, Erianna was a member of the girls’ varsity basketball team and was defensive player of the year during her junior and senior years. Furthermore, she was a member of the girls’ varsity basketball team all four years. When she was a senior, her team won the regional championship, she made the second team all region, and her team advanced to the state championship that season. Additionally, Erianna was a member of the varsity softball team and was active in the SGA, of which she served as student body vice president. Academically astute, Erianna made the honor roll throughout her high school career and graduated in the top 100 of her class with honors and distinction. In August 2018, Erianna began her educational journey at Voorhees as a Presidential Scholar to pursue a major in business administration. Since her freshman year, she has been very involved in numerous programs and activities. She is a member of the National Association of Black Accountants and attended the Southern Regional Student Conference in Atlanta, Georgia in 2019; is a volunteer tax preparer with Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA); is a member of the Eta Nu Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated; and is a member of the women’s basketball and women’s softball teams. She distinguished herself as a model student when she was elected freshman class president, Miss NAACP, named rookie of the year for basketball, and most versatile player for softball during her freshman year. During her junior year, she was Miss Junior and a student ambassador. Erianna deems having been elected the 54th Miss Voorhees College a blessing and a dream come true. Her platform is Play the Hand You’re Dealt, which focuses on demonstrating to her peers how to use available resources effectively to achieve their ultimate goals. She firmly believes that a strong mindset will result in one’s success whatever cards one may be dealt. After graduation, Erianna plans to attend graduate school to further her career in business. Her lifelong goal is to have a successful career in real estate and to manage her family’s restoration business. She believes in taking risks and pursuing new adventures. She lives by Joshua 1:9, “Be strong and of good courageous; be not frightened, neither be dismayed; for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”



MR. VOORHEES

HENRIADAM BROWER HENRIADAM DE’ZHON BROWER, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, is the son of Henry Smith III and April Brower-Smith. Henriadam is the middle sibling of Zeric Smith and Ranisha Brower. In 2018, he graduated from Cumberland International Early College High School. During his high school senior year, he received an award for completing the most volunteer hours in his community all while assisting in the operation of a local indoor batting facility. Also, while in high school, he obtained high academic standards through honor roll and for excellent attendance. He was an active member of the National Honor Society, International Known Men’s Club, and the Seventy-First Varsity Baseball Team. At Cumberland Early College High School, Henriadam was the first student-athlete in seven years to sign a collegiate baseball contract. He graduated Early College High School with the distinct honor of Magna Cum Laude, completing fifty-five college credits, and maintaining a 3.9 High School/College GPA. In August 2018, Henriadam enrolled at Voorhees College as a Presidential Scholar and is a senior majoring in Sports Management. He has maintained his status on the Dean’s List and the President’s List and is an active member of the W. Franklin Evans Honors College and the International Studies Program. In addition, he is the two-year captain of the Voorhees Baseball Team. During the academic year 2019-2020, Henriadam was blessed with the opportunity to travel to and in Africa. During his travel, he deemed the opportunity an honor to explore Ghana; Casablanca, Morocco; and Monrovia, Liberia and to participate in a volunteer study-abroad experience under the auspice of Planting a Seed International. For Henriadam, having been elected the eighth Mr. Voorhees College is a special blessing and honor. His platform is “Taking VC to a N.E.W (Network, Energy, and Wealth of Knowledge) Level,” and his slogan is “It’s not my throne; it’s our throne, and let’s reign together.” During his reign, he will plant seeds of knowledge and resources that will imbue underclassmen to plant similar seeds for their personal motivation and upperclassmen to graduate. Additionally, he plans to inspire his fellow students to be competitive candidates for employment, to be productive citizens within their communities, and to promote awareness of Voorhees College. After graduation, Henriadam’s desire is to become a professional baseball player. His longterm goals are to own an indoor sports facility for youth, establish a mentoring program at his facility, and inspire individuals through his clothing fashion brand, Irnehadams, Inc. He lives by the expression BINGO: “Believe In God Only.” He believes that during storms when the wind blows forcefully, there are two types of trees: those that fall and those that stand tall. Throughout the challenges of his life, Henriadam has been the tree that has stood tall because of his firm foundation of Believing In God Only! Therefore, Henriadam is confident that he will never fall, that he has the answer, and that you have the answer….Believe In God Only.

MISS SENIOR

LAUREN ADAMS LAUREN NICOLE ADAMS, a senior majoring in mass communication, hails from McDonough, Georgia and is the daughter of Inez Williams, Tamika Adams, and Twaun Adams. In high school, Lauren participated in gymnastics, crosscountry, volleyball and ROTC. Moreover, she was a very active member in her church’s youth group, and she helped teach and guide them to be better individuals. Currently, she is a member of the media team and the TRIO Student Support Services Program. Lauren’s hobbies include reading, shopping, watching movies, and spending time with her friends and family. She is passionate about her love for film. After graduating from Voorhees College, she plans to continue her education to earn the master’s degree in mass media. Her dream is to own a production company and studio. Lauren lives by the adage, “A strong woman is a woman who has weathered many storms without losing the goodness of her character.”

MR. SENIOR

MARIO SUMPTER MARIO SUMPTER, from Augusta, Georgia, is a senior and sports management major. He is the son of Mario Williams and Latasha Sumpter. He is captain of the Voorhees College Baseball Team and was vice president of the junior class. During his leisure time, he enjoys practicing to become a more skillful baseball player, play 2K, and joke and have fun with his peers. Mario’s motto is, “It isn’t the mountain ahead to climb that wears you out; it’s the pebble in your shoe.” Upon graduating from Voorhees College, he plans to pursue a career in baseball and to earn the master’s degree in business administration.


MISS JUNIOR

RAYN MORRIS RAYN CEMONE MORRIS, a junior majoring in criminal justice, is the daughter of Tamaria Chesney-Gregory. Rayn is the president of Golden Touch Organization. In her leisure, she enjoys spending time with her family, and interacting with positive people Rayn also enjoys tutoring children, writing poetry, and listening to music. After graduating from Voorhees College, she plans to be a detective while pursuing the juris doctorate degree. After earning the juris doctorate, she plans to establish and operate a law firm, specializing in cases of racial discrimination. Rayn lives by the principles, “Everything you want should be yours--the type of work you want; the relationships you need; the social, mental, and aesthetic stimulation that will make you happy and fulfilled; the money you require for the lifestyle that is appropriate to you; and any requirement that you may (or may not) have for achievement or service to other people. If you don’t aim for it all, you’ll never get it all. To aim for it requires that you know what you want.”

MR. JUNIOR

JAMORRI CUNNINGHAM JAMORRI ISAIAH CUNNINGHAM, from Montgomery, Alabama, is a junior and sports management major. He is the son of Morris and Latonda Cunningham. JaMorri’s goal is to become a sports director of player personnel in scouting and recruiting for baseball. Eventually, his desire is to become a coach. His hobbies are playing and watching sports, associating with friends, watching movies and podcasts, and listening to music. JaMorri is a member of the Voorhees Tigers baseball team. His motto is “Life is short; live it. Love is rare; grab it. Anger is bad; dump it. Fear is awful; face it. Memories are sweet; cherish them.”


MISS SOPHOMORE

ASHANTE DOVE Ashante Lamauria Dove, a, a sophomore biology major, hails from San Antonio, Texas but currently resides in Columbia, South Carolina. She is the daughter of Courtney Catrell Dove and Lamont Wray Dove. In high school, Ashante actively participated in the dance, art, and math clubs. Moreover, she participated in her church as a youth leader, worked with the poppet ministry, and helped lead a summer camp. Since her matriculation at Voorhees College, she has been Miss Freshman 2020-2021 and a student ambassador. Ashante’s hobbies include singing, drawing, cooking, shopping, and exploring new cuisines. She is very family-oriented and is passionate about working in the medical field. Ashante is often described as ambitious, determined, loyal, and creative. After graduating from Voorhees College, she plans to continue her education at Georgia Institute of Technology to earn the master’s degree in bioengineering. Her goal is to become a biomedical scientist/researcher. Ashante is inspired by motivational quotes and lives by Psalms 46:5, “God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns.”

MR. SOPHOMORE

JORDANNY MARTE Jordanny Cuevas Marte is from Ithaca, New York and is of Dominican descent. He is the son of Xiomara Marte Suerto and Maximo Cuevas. Jordanny is a transfer student from Mohawk Valley Community College where he was majoring in business administration. He is a member of the Voorhees College Men’s Basketball team and characterizes himself as a very outgoing individual who tries to live each day with a purpose. He plans to pursue a career in brand management, and he believes that everyone should defy the odds and pursue happiness.


MISS FRESHMAN

TETERRIA HOLLIMAN Teterria Ayanna Holliman, a freshman majoring in biology and minoring in chemistry, was born and reared in Augusta, Georgia. She is the daughter of Tiffany Scott and Terry Holliman. Teterria is from a large family, inclusive of has five siblings: four brothers and one sister. In high school, Teterria was a four-year athlete of the varsity basketball team, and she participated in cross-country and track and field. In addition to fulfilling her high school academic and athletic requirements, she owned and operated LovelylocsbyTe, a hair salon. Teterria’s hobbies include shopping, reading, eating and enjoying nature. She also enjoys playing basketball, spending time with her family and communicating with people who have positive vibes. After graduating from Voorhees College, she plans to pursue a career in dentistry, similar to her mother, Tiffany Scott, and eventually become an orthodontist. Teterria aspires to become an orthodontist to help children and adults feel proud and happy with their smiles. She believes in and lives by 2 Timothy 4:17, “But the Lord stood with me and gave me strength….”

LAWRENZ ELLMANSANDERS Lawrenz Henri Ellman-Sanders is a freshman majoring in Business Administration. He was born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina to Mr. Roderick L. Williams and Mrs. Lauren D. Murry. At Voorhees, he is a member of the Voorhees College Choir and TRIO Student Support Services Program. He is currently an Intern in the Office of the President at Voorhees College. In high school, he was member of Black Student Union and Teacher’s Cadet. After Voorhees, he plans on attending graduate school to pursue his Master’s in Architectural Design, with the ultimate goal of becoming an architect and owning his own architectural firm. His mantra in life is, “I will excel, because I am excellent”. He believes that everyone can achieve their dreams with enough discipline and dedication.
