United Way Bucket Brigade

There were seven events in September that Volunteer ASU sent volunteers to. These included the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, Children’s Advocacy Center Bike Ride, the United Way Bucket Brigade, Hispanic Heritage Service Project, Sleepout for the Homeless, City Youth 5k, and the Heart and “Sole” 5K and Half Marathon. During these events, students stood in the rain to help collect money for The United Way and raised a total of $5,633, slept outside to raise awareness of homelessness, and supplied runners with water during their 13.1 mile trek.

October 2 & 3: Volunteer ASU Blood Drive October 5: United Way Day of Caring October 5, 6, & 7: Fall Service Project in Joplin, MO October 9: Breast Cancer Awareness Event and ASU Wear Pink Day October 13: Habitat for Humanity Event October 20: Clopton Clinic Goblin Gala October 27: Big Brother and Big Sister Bowling Tournament During the month of September, students were encouraged to bring their new or lightly used blankets to the Leadership Center to be donated to the Salvation Army. A total of 78 blankets were donated. Way to Make A StAtement!
