1. The Inner Line Permit can be obtained free of cost from all Foreigner’s Registration Offices. All Indian Mission abroad, Immigration Officers at Airport at Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and New Delhi, Inspector General of Police Office , Sikkim Assistant Directors, Sikkim Tourism Office, Sikkim House New Delhi/Kolkata/Siliguri/Rangpo/Melli and Darjeeling, Deputy Secretary/Under Secretary, Government of West Bengal, Kolkata and Deputy Commissioner, Darjeeling, West Bengal. 2. The Protected Area Permit to foreign tourists in group of two or above can be abstained through the recognized Travel Agents of Sikkim registered with Tourism Department, Government of Sikkim in accordance to Sikkim Registration of Tourist Trade Rules, 2008 for the places as notified vide circular no. 248, dated: 26/09/1998 read with Notification no. 16/Home/2006, dated: 25.02.2006 and as amended from time to time.

3. Extension of Inner Line Permit beyond 30 days can be obtained from the Foreigner’s Registration Office at Gangtok and Superintendent of Police at Namchi, South, Mangan, North, and Gyalshing, West for further period of 30 days. 4. The Trekking permit/Restricted area permit for trekking in the Protected Areas in Sikkim can be obtained from the Asistant Director, Sikkim Tourism Office, New Delhi and Gangtok free of cost subject to the condition laid down at Para-2 above and physical fitness to be certified by Competent Central/State Government Medical Doctors. NOTE: TREKKER (S) BEYOND THE AGE OF 65 YEARS SHOULD BE DISCOURAGED.
