On August 14th, 2014, Valley Key Club held a contest to see who could take the best photo with our Instagram poster! Are you interested in finding out who the three winners of this contest will be? Then make sure you attend our first general meeting on Wednesday, September 3rd in Room 200! If you took a picture with our poster, don’t forget to post it on Twitter or Instagram and use #valleykeyclub to enter our contest! Winners will receive a prize! Good luck!

#MNTBowlingNight “MNT Bowling Night was very fun. We held the event with Liberty Key Club, and I got to meet a lot of fun Key Clubbers. We met up, chatted for a bit, and paid for our bowling lanes and shoes. Then we
started bowling! Tickets were $20 each, and $8 of that went to the Eliminate project. Overall, Valley Key Club and Liberty Key Club raised a lot towards MNT, and it was a new and exciting experience!”

Vice President of Fundraising Sofia Yahya’s take on: Volunteering at Three Square Las Vegas “Volunteering at Three Square is a very fun and service-filled experience. At one of our shifts, we packed bags of candy to use to distribute to charities to use during Halloween. It was a very enjoyable experience to share with my fellow Key Clubbers.”

August DCM President Karl Catarata’s take on: Receiving Club of the Month! “It is amazingly awesome to have been awarded club of the month from D28S LTG Andriyah Anouvongs! When presented the award, I was absolutely surprised and shocked. My whole entire club was! Honestly, it feels great receiving the award, for I know that Valley Key Club and our hard working members truly deserve it—from the selfless service they've
done this past month. I hope that in receiving this month's award, we can continue to strive on in dedicating ourselves to more community service events, interclub activities, fundraisers, and everything else Key Club!”

Treasurer Eyasu Kebede’s take on: Freshmen Orientation “Freshman Orientation was a lot of fun. The Key Club Board got to Valley at around 6 AM to set up our table, and the freshmen began pouring in before we knew it. I got to distribute flyers and inform the rising freshmen on what Key Club was all about. We also happened to be one of the few clubs present at Valley, which speaks for our preparedness and our organization. All in all, Freshman Orientation was a success

Note from the Editor
Hello, Reader! I hope you enjoyed this month’s revamped edition of the Victorious Vikings! Our Vikes have truly been busy bees this summer and they’ve got so much planned for the upcoming school year, as well. With that being said, our club is happily active all the time with different service events every week, and while it might be a little stressful, the fun in each event and the satisfaction of helping others makes up for it tenfold. I’d like to say that I’m proud of how active our club is. It feels like—from the very first moment I became a key clubber—this club has been growing. It’s as if I’ve watched it grow from the ground up and have even grown along with it as a person. I have a deep sense of pride for our club, our members, our board, and our advisors. So while you’re reading through our newsletters or looking over our social media, I hope you’re able to see and sense that development as well. With this new school year coming up, we will continue to work hard to
