PE NSAC OLA SPOR TS ASSOC IATI ON
Welcome Players and Guests, On behalf of the board, staff, and members of the Pensacola Sports Association, as well as the entire tourism industry of Escambia County, it is my pleasure to welcome the players, families and friends to our wonderful community. Pensacola is a community filled with many amenities for your enjoyment and I hope you will take the time to experience some of them while you are here. Amazing history as the first European settlement (1559, six years ahead of St. Augustine), world-class museums including the National Museum of Naval Aviation (the largest in the world), entertainment (downtown’s Palafox Street ranked one of Great Places in America’s Top Ten Streets), and of course the sugar white sand of Pensacola Beach and Perdido Key. Pensacola is also home to some of the top minds in the world as the home of the Institute for Human and Machine Cognition and other high tech firms in fields such as aeronautics and engineering who are building the businesses in our warm and supportive business climate. As you plan for your future, we hope you will consider the Pensacola area for your vacations or as a place to ”put down roots”. In the words of the late Mayor Emeritus Vince Whibbs we are “the Western Gate to the Sunshine gate where thousands live the way millions wish they could…” Thank you for coming. We welcome and encourage feedback from all the sponsors, participants, volunteers and staff in our on-going efforts to make this event the best it can be this year, and for the future. Good luck and please remember sportsmanship matters! Ray Palmer Executive Director

Sportsmanship Statement NIRSA believes good sportsmanship is an integral component of intercollegiate competition. We wholeheartedly embrace the position that in order for sportsmanship to prevail, coaches, studentathletes, and fans must display respect, fairness, civility, honesty, and responsibility before, during and after all athletic contests. We encourage fans to enthusiastically support their team, recognize the outstanding performance of opponents, and always exhibit good sportsmanship in their words and actions. NIRSA encourages and promotes sportsmanship by student-athletes, coaches, and spectators. Offensive language including profanity, racial or ethnic slurs or other intimidating actions directed at officials, event staff, student-athletes, coaches or team representatives will not be tolerated and are grounds for removal from sight of the competition.
