FACILITY HIGHLIGHTS Patrick-Forbush-Gutterson (PFG) Complex The PFG Complex spans over 303,000 square feet and generates a buzz of activity throughout the entire day. Whatever your interest, the spaces within this complex hold unlimited possibilities to explore your recreational needs!

A valid UVM ID is required to check out equipment. Replacement costs will be billed for any equipment damaged or not returned. Groups wishing to take out equipment overnight should reserve in advance with the Campus Recreation Office. Saturday nights from 8-11pm various programming ideas including broomball, dodgeball, kickball, basketball, soccer, swimming (dive-in-movie), plus many more! MEMBERSHIP - AUTOMATIC STATUS Those listed below automatically have membership to the PFG Facility:
ID POLICY: Patrons must present valid identification (UVM CATcard or biometric identity) to access Campus Recreation facilities or programs. If your UVM ID card is lost or stolen, the card must be replaced at the CATcard Office (Located in the Davis Center). If you forget your UVM CATcard, to gain access to Campus Recreation facilities or any Campus Recreation program/activity, options may include:

COURT RESERVATION Our racquetball, tennis, and squash courts may be scheduled with the online court reservation system on a first-come, first-serve basis. Reservations may be made up to 14 days in advance. No same-day requests will be accepted. One racquetball court is designated a challenge court only and will be unavailable to reserve at all times.

No open-toed or open-heeled shoes. • Clothing: No jeans. Athletic style clothing only. Shirts that cover the midriff are required. DRINKS & FOOD: Only water in a seal-able non-glass container is allowed in the Fitness Center. No food is allowed in the Fitness Center at any time. AGE: Persons under the age of 18 are not permitted in the Fitness Center (excluding current UVM students). WEIGHTS: DO NOT DROP WEIGHTS. Please re-rack weights, bars, and weight accessories when finished. CLEANING: Please wipe down equipment after use. Do not spray solution directly on machines but on provided towels and thoroughly wipe equipment with towels. TURNSTILE: DO NOT use any ID other than your own to gain access to the facility.
ALCOHOL & OTHER DRUG POLICY The University of Vermont Campus Recreation Program is committed to providing the campus community with opportunities to recreate in a positive and safe environment. In accordance with the UVM alcohol and other drug policy and to ensure the safety of all individuals, Campus Recreation prohibits patrons from attending or engaging in UVM Campus Recreation related and/or sponsored activities while under the influence and/or in possession of drugs and/or alcohol as evidenced through the diminished capacity of motor skills, smell of alcohol, language confirming or suggesting alcohol consumption, demonstration of belligerence, or any other behavior that is deemed harmful or unsafe by Campus Recreation Staff. Individuals suspected to be in violation of this policy are subject to the following: • •
Immediate removal from facility. Failure to comply and cooperate with Campus Recreation Staff will result in UVM Police Services being called Pending review and investigation of the incident by Campus Recreation Staff, offending individuals may be subject to temporary or permanent loss of Campus Recreation privileges
All policy violations will be reported to the Center for Student Ethics & Standards for Judicial Review.
INTRAMURAL SPORTS
Our Intramural Sports Program offers a variety of recreational team and individual sports. The goal of the Intramural Sports Program is to provide opportunities for the UVM community to recreate in a sport-based setting with a focus on positive social interaction and promotion of healthy lifestyles.
DIVISIONS
ELIGIBILITY
Our intramural activities are offered in men’s, women’s, co-rec, and open divisions. Some leagues are divided by competitive levels. (i.e., A = Competetive, B = Recreational)
All current students and benefited faculty and staff are eligible to participate in intramural sport programs. All participants must present a current UVM ID prior to participating in any intramural activity.
SPORTSMANSHIP Participation in an intramural program is a privilege. All participants and fans are subject to the UVM Code of Conduct, which will be adhered to by the Intramural Sports Office. Conduct judged to be detrimental to the particpants, program, or staff will result in appropriate sanctions against offending players and/or teams.

FITNESS PROGRAMS GROUP FITNESS CLASSES Our group fitness classes run year-round. Class times are scheduled throughout the day. For unlimited access to classes, participants must purchase a pass online. You have the option of purchasing a semester pass or academic year pass. Participants also have the option to be charged $10/class without purchasing an unlimited pass by bringing their UVM ID to class.

PERSONAL TRAINING All of our Iron Cat Personal Trainers hold national certifications and have the expertise to keep you safe while pushing you to meet your goals. Personal trainers will provide you with affordable instruction, guidance, and support to meet your needs and goals in the following ways:
• Assess your fitness levels and develop S.M.A.R.T. goals: Specific - Measurable - Attainable - Relevant - Time Bound • Develop individualized and progressive programs • Provide education on proper techniques and execution of exercises • Evaluate progress and adjustment of program as needed to avoid training plateaus Our trainers are dedicated to designing S.M.A.R.T. goals and individualized programs that build a strong foundation in mobility and stability before resistance training. We offer full and partial fitness assessments as well as single and multiple personal training sessions. Begin working with a trainer today with an Iron Cat’s starter package, which consists of a full fitness assessment and one training session.

AQUATICS / PHYSICAL ED (PEAC) / YOUTH & COMMUNITY AQUATICS: THE FORBUSH NATATORIUM The Aquatic Facility is used for open recreation swim hours, Learn-to-Swim lessons, summer camps, club sports, and Physical Education (PEAC) classes.
• 6 Lanes - 25 yards long • Depth - 4 feet to 12 feet • 1-meter diving board available for use • Home to the Vermont Swim and Diving Team Family swim begins at 5pm on Fridays and during open rec times on Saturday & Sunday. PHYSICAL ED (PEAC) CLASSES The Physical Education Program offers physical activity and instructional classes to students in aquatics, fitness, dance, martial arts, and lifetime sports. Instruction is sequential and planned to develop and improve performance skills, to impart knowledge and concepts relevant to the activity, to introduce information concerning the fitness and health benefits of regular exercise, and to help students develop and maintain physical fitness. These courses also provide opportunities for multi-cultural learning and socialization. Beginner through advanced level classes are provided in many activities. All classes are one credit and meet two times/week for one hour during a standard academic year. A majority of a student’s grade for a PEAC class will be based on class participation and attendance, but there is also an emphasis on psychomotor and cognitive skill development.

1 UPPER BODY HAND CRANK (Wheel Chair Accessible) 2 SKIERG Nordic skiing is an exhilarating and aerobically demanding sport, so it’s no surprise that Nordic skiers are extremely fit athletes. The SkiErg makes this terrific aerobic exercise accessible to anyone.
3 CYBEX BRAVO PRO STRENGTH FUNCTIONAL TRAINER 4 VERSACLIMBER The VersaClimber was uniquely designed to provide a 50% easier workout– making it ideal for those gym owners or individuals who want to offer a more relaxed approach to training. Reducing the normal step height from 1-20 inches down to just 1-10 inches, while increasing the upper body range of motion to 1-27 inches–essentially cutting the work load by 50%.
