There are hundreds, maybe thousands, of reasons why you should become a Blue Knight - academic reasons, fun reasons, future reasons. Here are a few. UU is a college of distinction. We offer 30 undergraduate and graduate programs. You will start the year with Welcome Weekend, have great out-of-classroom experiences, and graduate in four years. But the number one reason is that you will succeed. You’ll get an education that will give you confidence in future quests. FIRST-YEAR EXPERIENCE

We’ve got it figured out. As a freshman, you have many questions and a lot to explore. These programs will guide you through your first year. NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION - A one-day required event that prepares you for UU. We’ll cover all the services available, share first-year tips, and acquaint you with life at UU. You’ll also meet with your academic advisor, register for classes, and get your student I.D. If you have questions, this will be the time to raise that hand. WELCOME WEEKEND - Before classes begin, move in early, get settled, connect with faculty and staff, make new friends, and learn to navigate the campus and the City of Urbana. UNIVERSITY SEMINAR - This course gives first-year students an opportunity to make the academic and social transition to UU. This unique seminar is facilitated by a UU faculty member and an upperlevel student. They’ll help you explore all there is to know about UU and the surrounding Urbana community.
