LETTER FROM THE

DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS Dear Wildcats, Every year, our goal within the University of New Hampshire Department of Athletics is to provide an exceptional experience for more than 500 student-athletes. We prioritize academic achievement while also pursuing competitive success on a national level. Our ability to succeed in both is due to the annual support we receive from our alumni, parents, fans and friends. I hope that you find the contents of this booklet to be educational, informative, and most of all, inspiring. While this covers a wide array of topics across UNH Athletics, we have included some specific content about areas you most connected to. Ultimately, I hope that your takeaway is the important impact that philanthropy plays in the lives of our student-athletes, and the success of our department. As you explore the latest in UNH Athletics, I ask that you make a gift to the sport or program of your choice. Your contribution, no matter the amount, makes a difference in the lives of our studentathletes. I would like to personally thank you for continuing to strengthen our athletic programs and taking pride in your Wildcats. Go ’Cats! Sincerely,

Marty Scarano Director of Athletics

SUPPORT THE WILDCATS ATHLETIC DIRECTOR’S PRIORITIES

Gifts to AD’s Priorities are considered unrestricted donations that provide the Athletic Director freedom to enhance areas where all student-athletes benefit. Recent investments include enhancing the Wildcat Fueling Station and renovating a classroom space in the Field House to allow for film preparations and team meetings.

ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIPS

More than 330 of 500+ student-athletes representing all 20 athletic programs receive some type of athletic scholarship. Gifts designated here help defray this cost, which reaches over $9 million annually.

SPORT-SPECIFIC GIVING

Our coaches rely on donations to their programs in order to enhance the student-athlete experience. Gifts to a specific sport or program provides immediate resources for coaches to invest and enhance our Wildcats’ academic and athletic potential. Every coach has the flexibility to utilize those resources in the way that they feel will have the greatest impact on their program. Some common expenses include team travel, team meals, equipment upgrades, and team building experiences.

ENDOWED FUNDS

Endowed athletic funds/scholarships are investments in the future of UNH Athletics while still allowing current Wildcats to benefit. Endowed funds accrue interest and allow a percentage to be allocated annually for scholarship or program support. Endowed funds can support any team or program. To learn how to establish a named endowed fund, or how to support an existing fund, please contact the UNH Athletic Development office.

CAPITAL PROJECTS

As we strive to maintain our athletic success, the need for quality facilities continues to rise. Private support for capital projects and renovations enhances UNH Athletics in the areas of competition, recruiting, and functionality. To learn more about current and future capital projects, please contact the UNH Athletic Development office.

Competing on the UNH men’s hockey team has been a privilege. As a New Hampshire native, I dreamed to play for the Wildcats. The overwhelming fan support, challenging academics, and strong hockey bonds continues to elevate my pride for UNH.
