Life at UMass Law

Your choice of a law school is a decision about academic excellence, professional preparation, and affordability. You are choosing a law school that will enable you to pursue your unique career goals in any field of law.

I’ve really grown with my classmates who are always there to help each other so that everyone succeeds together. It is a community, and it feels like one family. I feel like this is home.” Quay Parks Kissimie, Florida

Cover photo: Each year, the incoming class at UMass Law volunteers at Sharing the Harvest Community Farm as part of their orientation. Californians Michael McMurty of Pebble Beach and Tara George of Yuba City join in weeding, planting, and harvesting at the nonprofit community farm that donates food to those in need along the SouthCoast. This day of service is one of many ways UMass Law supports the local community.

As you weigh each of these factors, consider this—UMass Law offers a beautiful location, convenient accommodations, a warm and welcoming community, and a vibrant social life. Location. Location. Location. UMass Law is located in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, a beautiful coastal community conveniently situated 30 minutes from Cape Cod and from Providence, RI, and about an hour from Boston, MA. The SouthCoast MA area offers an affordable cost of living, scenic beaches, and extensive running and biking trails where you can enjoy a study break outdoors. Within a mile of campus, you’ll find everything you need—shopping, restaurants and cafes, and a variety of entertainment.
