Financial Aid Services
UMass Law Financial Aid Services would like to congratulate you on your acceptance to the law school and offer our assistance in financing your legal education. We strongly encourage you to contact us to discuss your law school financing options or to schedule a meeting. Our office is located within the Law Enrollment Center (LEC).
How to apply for financial aid
Our financial aid packages consist of scholarships awarded during the admissions process, Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loans, and Direct Graduate Plus Loans, if needed.
Though scholarships are automatically applied to your account, you must complete the following steps to obtain your educational loans.
• Complete and submit the 2023-24 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) using our school code 002210 after October 1, 2022: www.studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa
• Complete a Direct Unsubsidized Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Entrance Counseling for Graduate and Professional students: www.studentaid.gov
• Submit any additional required forms or documentation to Law Financial Aid Services. law-financialaid@umassd.edu
All financial aid recipients: Complete and submit the 2023-24 UMass Law Financial Aid Application, available in the Forms & Policies section of our website. www.umassd.edu/law/admissions/financial-aid/ policies-forms
Applications for additional funding through the Direct Graduate Plus Loan can be submitted as early as May. However, your total financial need can be more precisely calculated after the 2023-24 Cost of Attendance Budgets are finalized in July. You must also complete a Direct Graduate Plus Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN) at www.studentaid.gov to receive this loan. Under certain circumstances, further documentation may be required.
