MARIO PRICE Assistant Coach Inside Wide Receivers Second Season at ULM Mario Price begins his second season with the Warhawk football program and first as the team’s inside wide receivers coach. He was selected to the 2013 NCAA and AFCA Future Football Coaches Academy (FFCA) in Nashville, Tenn. As a graduate assistant in 2012, Price helped coach a strong receiving corps that saw Brent Leonard who set a pair of receiving records as he totaled 104 receptions last season and finished his Warhawk career with 209 grabs. Leonard was selected first team All-Sun Belt, while fellow receiver Je’Ron Hamm was an honorable mention All-Sun Belt selection. Prior to arriving in Monroe, Price served as the Wide Receivers Coach/Video Coordinator for Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss. He began his collegiate coaching career at Texas A&M-Commerce where he developed a total of two All-Lone Star Conference receivers during his two seasons, one of which was current ULM wide receiver Kenzee Jackson. Price began his coaching career in the high school ranks as he worked on the coaching staffs at Waco High School and G.W. Carver Magnet School, both located in Waco, Texas. At Waco High, he worked primarily with the offense and was involved in scouting opponents for the top-ranked team in the state for three-straight years. Price played collegiate football at both Army and Baylor. He started his career at Army under then-head coach Todd Berry. As a true freshman in 2002, Price played in all 12 games as a defensive back and as a member of the special teams. Following his freshman season, he transferred to Baylor University and played in 24 career games to earn three letters as a member of the Bears’ football squad. He saw action on special teams and as a running back. He earned All-Big 12 academic honors as a senior and was a two-time selection to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll as well as the university’s Dean’s List.
