Living on campus Choose from a variety of on-campus living options.

FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS: On-Campus Living Requirement On-campus living is a crucial part of your educational experience at the University of Idaho. New students are required to live on campus during their first year unless they meet certain exemption requirements. New students may choose from among 28 fraternity or sorority houses, 25 residence hall communities and a women’s cooperative. You may request an exemption from this requirement through the Office of the Dean of Students no later than May 15.

FIRST-YEAR AND TRANSFER STUDENTS: On-campus living ensures your success With more than 900 international students from over 77 countries, you can experience a campus full of culture and diversity.

When you live on campus, you are at the center of student life. On-campus living at Idaho is convenient and fun. You will meet new friends, develop as an individual, and be conveniently located to all campus resources. On-campus living is cost-effective and the experience of a lifetime! What’s more, on-campus living is linked to academic success. Students who live on campus are more likely to have higher GPAs, feel more satisfied and graduate faster.

Next Steps 1. We encourage you to explore the residence halls on our website at uidaho.edu/student-life/live-on-campus 2. Complete your residence hall application to choose your room. 3. You will need to pay a $200 Housing security deposit to reserve your room. Register for housing early so you can get your first choice! 4. Check into your residence hall during ALCP orientation.
