DOCTOR OF NURSing PRACTICE (DNP)* ONLINE DELIVERY 36 Credit Hours The UCA DNP program will be part-time, completed over two calendar years, including summers. This allows students to continue fulltime employment. The DNP program is a post-master’s degree. The program will be online with a required on-campus orientation. instructional technology (ms) 36 Credit Hours The Master of Science in Instructional Technology (ITEC) is designed to provide candidates with the knowledge and skills needed to become technology leaders and practitioners within their professional arenas (e.g., education, business, government, and nonprofit organizations.) By its design, the program offers a broad view of the field of instructional technology (e.g., history, theory, technology, management) yet is flexible enough to allow candidates to select an area of concentration reflective of their vocational interest. ADVANCED STUDIES IN TEACHER LEADERSHIP (msE) 30 Credit Hours This degree prepares candidates to become highly skilled, articulate classroom teachers by enhancing and expanding existing knowledge and skills of candidates. reading (mse) 30 Credit Hours This program is designed to provide candidates with the knowledge and skills needed to become successful reading specialists and literacy coaches (K-8 and K-12). It offers a broad range of opportunities for candidates to learn about the foundational knowledge of literacy, historical and current seminal reading research, language arts instruction, reading curriculum development, literacy coaching, reading assessment, strategies for working with struggling and diverse readers, methods for integrating technology into reading instruction, and other critical issues in reading and literacy education. uca.edu/go/reading

special education (MSE) 36 Credit Hours The Master of Science in Special Education is designed to prepare candidates in the development of knowledge, skills, and strategies needed to impact services and supports to students with special needs. The program offers a broad range of opportunities for candidates to learn about special education litigation and legislation, medical conditions, assessment, behavior guidance, instructional strategies, and best practices in serving persons with disabilities and their families. school counseling (MS) 48 Credit Hours The purpose of the program is to prepare school counselors to meet the educational, social, psychological, and career needs of students while working collaboratively with students, teachers, parents, peer professionals, administrators, and the community. MASTER OF ARTS IN TEACHING (MAT) 36-39 Credit Hours This graduate program is appropriate for students with a bachelor’s degree and are interested in obtaining an Arkansas teaching license in early childhood, middle level, or secondary education. The Partnership for Transition to Teaching (P3T) grant provides financial support for MAT candidates who are recent college graduates, career changers, paraprofessionals as well as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics majors. uca.edu/transition

geographic information systems (mgis) 30 Credit Hours This degree program will meet the training needs of university graduate students, active professionals, and those interested in retraining or entering the GIS workforce. The GIS/mapping industry is a burgeoning market and is the third fastest growing technology after nanotechnology and biotechnology. NURSING (MSN) 39-44 Credit Hours The MSN program is designed for the working registered nurse. All courses are offered online. Periodic visits to the Conway campus are required for each course. UCA’s MSN curriculum prepares the graduate to be an expert provider of care in acute, ambulatory, and community care settings as well as a leader in institutional and professional settings. It is also designed for students entering doctoral programs in Family and Consumer Sciences or related fields. This program has a thesis and non-thesis option.
