Media Information Photography Photographers are limited to marked areas along the baselines, in accordance with NCAA guidelines. Availability of photo passes to anyone other than representatives of accredited media agencies or those specifically authorized by the UAB Athletic Department will be strictly regulated. Freelance photographers will be accommodated subject to availability of space and approval by the media relations office. Use of strobe lighting must be approved in advance by the athletic media relations office, and will be supervised in accordance with NCAA media guidelines. Radio/TV Broadcasts Radio and TV broadcast rights to UAB basketball games are owned by the UAB Athletic Department in conjunction with IMG Sports. Visiting schools or stations wishing to originate broadcasts from Bartow Arena must secure written permission from the UAB Athletic Department (contact George Dennis 205/975-0890). One courtside radio broadcast courtesy line with a minimum of three seats will automatically be reserved for opponents (requests for additional seating should be directed to the Media Relations office). Requests for courtesy phone lines for non-conference opponents should be directed to the UAB Media Relations office. Conference USA opponents will automatically be provided with a minimum of three courtesy lines. Requests for ISDN service should be directed to Jon Gentile at least two weeks in advance. Media Services The athletic media relations office will provide game programs, notes and statistics prior to each home game. An NCAA box score and

typed play-by-play will be provided at halftime and a full statistics book will be issued following each game. The working media area is just inside the 13th Street lower-level entrance. Work space and telephone access will be provided as well as a meal approximately one hour prior to tipoff. Postgame Procedures UAB head coach Jerod Haase will be available for his postgame press conference (in the media interview room) following the standard 10-minute cooling-off period. Only requested players will be available outside the UAB locker room. The UAB locker room will be closed to media following the game. Postgame interview policy for UAB opponents will be announced by each visiting SID. Interview Policy For interviews with UAB players, please contact Tray Littlefield in the Athletic Media Relations office at least 24 hours in advance. On game days, no player interviews will be permitted prior to the conclusion of the game. All interview requests for Coach Haase will be handled by The UAB Athletic Media Relations Staff (205-934-0722). Home phone numbers of UAB players and coaches will not

be provided. On the road, UAB players and coaches will be available just prior to and just after practice sessions, with the exception of game day. Practice The men’s basketball team generally practices between 3-6 p.m. CT on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and 7-9 a.m. CT on Tuesdays and Thursdays (TBA on weekends). The pre-practice and post-practice periods are open to all media wishing to conduct interviews. Coach Haase is generally available to media from 2:30 until the start of practice. Please make any interview requests known to UAB Athletics Media Relations office, 24 hours in advance. Conference USA Media Services Media relations for Conference USA are handled by Assistant Commissioner of Media Relations, Courtney Morrison-Archer. The conference office can be reached by calling 214-774-1300. All questions regarding Conference USA events, policies, interviews with conference staff, etc., should be directed to the C-USA office.
