December Meeting We will be holding our December meeting at Donoli’s Restaurant with their prime rib buffet. The menu is prime rib, ham with pineapple, chicken parmigiana, scalloped potatoes, eggplant parmigiana, baked ziti, mixed veggies, salad, garlic bread, and coffee service. Cost is $14.00 per person
As you will see in the secretary’s report on the next page we were not able to develop a new proposal for officers as we did not have a majority of members present at our November meeting. We also had no members who were willing to move into the offices that were open.
We will be entertained by “A Touch of Brass” We need the head count by December 1.
Because Cheryl and I feel so strongly our affiliation with Tioga Region, she will fill in as our secretary and I as president until these offices can be filled by someone more qualified.
The festivities will begin at 6:00PM December 14th. The buffet will be ready at 6:30.
Your Help Needed! I have decided to make some of the newsletter easier for me to put together, so for the next few issues there will be reproductions from
the RUMMAGE BOX, a publication of our national offices in Hershey. If any of you members feel led to submit a story about
your car or something that happened in your past, I will be more than willing to include it in your newsletter. This is your club and also your newsletter.

Major Changes Needed!!! On the following pages I have included a copy of our by-laws. Since these by -laws are now some thirty years old it is time that we seriously consider a modern revision to our club’s by-laws. The one major flaw in the activities we have been conducting is that we have not abided by the prime rule that a 51% membership attendance is needed to approve any activities we conduct. In the past seven years there have been almost no meetings that were attended by 51% of the membership. Our November meeting was last night and we had only nine members present! This was the meeting where we should propose the new officers for the next year. The membership has been informed that both myself and our secretary, George, were ready to end our service as officers in Tioga
Region. I have to admit that I was disappointed that no other members were willing to fill the posts that we wish to vacate. Of course if we had had a person who was willing to move into the positions we would not have been able to approve the new roster since we did not have the 51% membership in attendance. It is well known that many of our members travel south for the winter, but there are still enough members who remain here to conduct a legal meeting if they will attend. Some changes are necessary if we are to continue, that is obvious. Starting with the new year I will not hold meetings in January, March, and October. I also will be looking into holding our meetings in the winter months at restaurants as that seems to be the venue where we
have our best turn out. Of course the main change that we all have to make is to have more member participation in the meetings! Tioga Region can not function on a turn out of less than 20% membership! We are now into out 32nd year of existence and are financially the most sound that we have been in the last eight years. Why, if we are doing so well in the financial end, is it that some of our members have not been to a meeting in more than a year? Tioga Region is the most friendly car club that I have encountered. It would be a devastating shame if it were to fall due to member inattention. This is your club, it can only survive with your support! Your input is needed if we are to continue!
