What’s On @The Y

Welcome to The Y

SEPTEMBER 2015

Welcome to The Y’s Autumn Season!

Tues 1

As the nights begin to draw in and temperatures take a tumble, The Y can offer an array of treats to bring a little sunshine back to your lives. We have uplifting comedy from Doc Brown and Patrick Kielty and music from Sally Barker. In November we invite you to step back in time, Marty McFly style, for our Enchantment Under the Sea Dance with The Waletones. Festivals are filling up our programme this season. Bedtime Stories is supported by the Everybody’s Reading Festival in September. Holy and Horny features as part of Black History Month in October. 14/48:UK will produce a staging of John Godber’s famous play Up’n’Under, as our contribution to The Festival of Rugby. As usual we don’t like to do things the easy way so this will be a Theatre Anonymous production, where nobody knows who the cast are, not even the cast! And no season would be complete without our 14/48 Leicester Festival, which is going from strength to strength. Heading into the festive season we’ll be celebrating with our Comedy Christmas Special for the grown-ups, Santa’s Little Helper for our younger audiences (and the grown-ups, let’s face it!), and The Y’s Christmas Carol Service. As always there are ways for you to get involved, through Emergency! our open access arts showcase, our brand new monthly Open Mic sessions and our Script Clinic for budding writers. Check out the back page for more ideas. Enjoy, and don’t be a stranger!
