In 1600 the greatest comedian in the world (Will Kempe) and the greatest playwright in history (William Shakespeare) had a big fight. What happened next is the stuff of legend... To show Shakespeare the true nature of comedy Kempe walked out of his office and Morris danced from London to Norwich in nine days. Over 400 years later multi award-winning comedian Tim FitzHigham read about this argument within a long forgotten book... To commemorate the 400th anniversary of the death of Shakespeare join Tim for wild Morris dancing, near death, arrest and injury as he takes on the challenge of the greatest stand up the world ever saw - Will Kempe. An incredible one man Shakespeare standup comedy show.

The West End smash hit the world can’t stop talking about. This is stand-up comedy with no talking, drama with no acting and punch lines with no words. The artist formerly known as The Boy with Tape on His Face brings you a multi awardwinning, multi-hyphenate spectacle that needs to be seen to be believed. This year promises to be a bigger, brighter and more spectacular reimagining of his unique and special brand of silent comedy. The Crucible Both productions in partnership with

Concerto (work in progress)

by Arthur Miller Thurs 24 Nov, 2.30pm & 7.30pm, Fri 25 Nov, 2.30pm, £10/£5 conc

Fri 2 Sept, 7pm, £5 A performance by Michael Pinchbeck inspired by the composition of Piano Concerto for the Left Hand by Maurice Ravel and its commission by Paul Wittgenstein, who lost his right arm fighting in World War One. Concerto explores how Ravel was lost in a forest for 10 days outside Verdun in 1914, inspiring him to write his most celebrated works. The audience become the orchestra. A conductor becomes an assassin. A pianist plays a piece of music that tells a story about disability, music, war and 100 years of history. Commissioned by Lincoln Performing Arts Centre, Attenborough Arts Centre and Lakeside Arts Centre.

Performed by BA (Hons) Acting Musical Theatre students, working alongside students from the BA (Hons) Theatre Practice from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. “You’re either with us, or against us, there is no road between”. A community gripped by fear, infighting and hysteria sees religion, vendetta, lust and superstition catch fire and burn through it, destroying the moral foundations on which it claimed to be built. This fresh production of Arthur Miller’s masterpiece could not be more timely in re-examining the culture of fear and scapegoating in his dramatisation of the Salem witch-trails.
